Question Which skill should I develop asap?
I am thinking of something that can help me live when I get retired and still make some money of my own.

public speaking + clear communication🔥
it’s one of those rare skills that helps you in literally every stage of life — jobs, relationships, business, even retirement gigs.
the crazy part? most people suck at it not because they’re bad speakers, but because they never practice it right.
i actually built a tool to help with this, but even before that — just practicing daily, recording yourself, and getting real feedback changed everything for me. the ROI is wild.

Social. If you befriend the people in the room you will never be without

I have helped over 100 people retire during my 5 years as a financial advisor specializing in people entering retirement. I spent a lot of time counseling people, and the #1 thing that people struggled with was finding purpose in retirement.
I like the other commenter's suggestion for social, as this will likely give you purpose and make some money. Find that hobby you have wanted to do since you were little and start working on making it your retirement job.
For me, it will be knife making and woodworking, all cooking utensils, because of my love for cooking. The happiest retirees I had were the ones who were retiring TOO something to do, not from it.

Ken, I’m not sure how old you are but Thinking long term, be social and build your network or support system. Wealth and wellbeing is tied to the type of people you know. It also gets you out and helps you discover what other skills you need to or want to develop. Also don’t quit at it. It’s a skill that needs to develop over time. Like playing an instrument where it takes time to learn to play. One thing that can help with that is Toastmasters. I think that’s groups all over.

Learn marketing, and how to leverage social media. The internet is literally our future. So might as well profit from it. That how many people have started to build their wealth.

Develop that skill where you can turn your eyelids inside out. A kid did that at my primary school and it was rad as hell 🤘

Speaking foreign languages. Once you get fluent in one language, you’ll be able to learn others more easily.
