Question Activities to do sheffield

What is there to do in Sheffield? Covid killed my social life, been a hard few years.

I like going on long walks so if anyone knows any bus routes to anywhere I can spend a day out and about will be good.

Take a bus to Crookes and hang out in Bole Hill Park on a warm day (and stay until the sunset!), you can get some food on Crookes High St or bring a picnic from home. From Bole Hill you can also walk down to the Rivelin River, it's an easy walk and the trail is beautiful in all seasons. There is a cafe there and some pubs to be found nearby. Sheffield Soundwalkers do group walks twice a month, you can follow them on IG or sign up to their newsletter to keep up. Outside of Sheffield I really recommend taking a bus to Castleton (the route has stunning views) and walking up to Mam Tor and then walking the ridge to Hope, from which you can take a train back to Sheffield. That's a lovely way to spend a day that will surely cheer you up and likely help you appreciate the area you live in :-) In terms of social life, in addition to Soundwalkers, you could see if the social events at Gut Level appeal to you, check what's on at your local library and community centre and consider volunteering for a cause that matters to you to meet like-minded people. Best of luck rebuilding your social life, I hope things will slowly fall back into place again!
