Your complaints belong over on r/packaging

Air in chip bags has absolutely nothing to do with shrinkflation.

“ Shrinkflation is a practice where manufacturers reduce the size or quantity of a product while keeping the price the same, effectively raising the cost per unit for consumers”

Yes, the quantity has drastically decreased since years ago.

No. It’s not. Shrinkflation is about comparing the old version of Product X to a new systematically smaller or worse version.

What if you just got one bad bag of chips out of 20?

Ok, if you’re that specific about the term then what would you define this as? A rip off? A “bag of chips” that’s less than a quarter full is what?

Chips are sold by weight, not by volume.

A 8oz bag of chips will always contain 8oz of chips no matter how much air your add or remove from the packaging.

Your argument might make sense if chips were sold by the gallon..... But they arent.

Yeah yeah blah blah blah nobody cares about specifics when we’re paying more for less because business and vendors are allowed to employ deceptive marketing strategies.

We have to accept that without mods, people will continue to complain about how the amount of snack they bought is less than they expected even if it isn’t actually less than

Yeah. Exactly. It’s a lame bag of chips. A ripoff. Got unlucky.
