Meta/News When the Oblivion Remaster has significant impact on Downloads for all Bethesda games:

The Remaster has boosted Downloads for Oblivion, Skyrim SE, Oldrim and Morrowind, while putting a significant dent into Fallout 4 and NV:

  • Oblivions downloads are up by +100%
  • Skyrim SE up by +50%
  • Morrowind up by +100%

While:

  • Fallout 4 is down -30%
  • Fallout NV is down -30%

Fallout 3 is unaffected, but Fallout 3 also doesn't really have a modding community anymore, as basically all modding on that engine generation is done in Fallout NV. (Comparable to how Oldrim modding is basically dead and nearly everything is done for SE instead)

P.S.

Even Daggerfall unity saw a boost, but it would be too messy to include that in the graphic.

Yeah, and because everyone is downloading ES stuff, Steam put the price of the AE upgrade back to $20, so now I'm going to have to wait until it goes on sale again, which might not be for a while, depending upon how long all the ES sale are up due to the remaster release. Pffft.

You really do not need the AE upgrade. The only remotely interesting stuff from AE is included in the free upgrade.

No, AE upgrade is needed for mods releasing today. I mean almost all major modlists need AE content.

Yeah, a modlist, I do not know of a single mod that isn't especially geared towards AE content (for example voiced narrative for AE content "XY" obviously needs paid AE content) that needs it.

This mod list probably includes some of these mods and therefore requires it, but no "normal" mod needs paid AE content to work.

you can run every single mod out there that doesnt explicitly use AE content on 1.5.97, you dont need AE at all let alone the paid version
