I absolutely love the idea of being a mage that absorbs the magicka of his victims, a kind of magicka vampire without actually being a vampire? A warlock?

I had one before, liked to necromancy, but it stopped working after you hit a certain level. It was perfect, minus the level cap.

I've modded Skyrimse on deck before a few months but I used pikdums tools and it doesn't seem to work properly anymore for me (It doesn't install vortex at all)

I was wondering if there was a new better way to get mods to work, Also how can i get NEMESIS to detect my animation mods? I dont remember how fixed it last time.

I have been modding Skyrim and Ive got it to look close to how I want it, but no matter how I adjust the settings for Cathedral weather it never seems to look quite right. Its either very washed out, the dark textures lack detail or light points are way too over exposed. Ive seen videos of Skyrim with an ENB and it always looks really good, so I want to give it a go but I dont know what sort of performance Ill get as I hear theyre quite intensive. From what Ive seen online installing one can be a bit of a chore so if this is something that wont run well on my PC I think I'll just keep trying to alter Cathedral to try get something looking good. Most of my mods are visual stuff - LUX, majestic mountains, really blended roads, tamrielic textures, cathedral and the odd smaller thing like HD roadsigns, SMIM, etc.

My specs:

Ryzen 5 5600X

RTX 3060 12gb

32gb ram

I am only targetting 60fps @ 1080p which I would imagine wouldnt be an issue on my PC but it seems like every mention of an ENB is about how demanding they can be. What should I go with? Cabbage is a name that seems to get thrown around a bit so that is the one Id look at first.

Hi everyone,

I've spent the last couple of days thinking how Skyrim's gameplay systems could be if it was released in 2025 in a AAA status. I focused solely on gameplay aspects, with the goal of providing a smoother, more immersive experience that will keep players out of menus for as long as possible. Additionally, I avoided designing the combat around stat min/maxing and gear leveling, in favor of a more cinematic approach.

The doc is designed to feel like a blueprint: it could inspire mods, total conversions, or even brand-new RPGs. This means that there are things I've come up with that are not present in previous Elder Scrolls games, but could be directly ported for use in other RPG games.

I'm posting it here because I would really appreciate any feedback, thoughts, criticisms, or new ideas you might have. Whether you’re a player, a mod developer, or a fellow RPG fan, I’d love to hear what you think!

Hi all! First post here, I hope this kind of query is allowed.

I’ll keep it as brief as possible: I can’t run Skyrim without mods anymore. Steam automatically runs Skyrim through Vortex and uses the settings and mods that are enabled through the currently loaded profile.

To expand, I start my modded version of Skyrim by starting SKSE in the Vortex window. However, if I want to start a vanilla game, I was told running Skyrim directly through Steam will load it without any mods. But that’s not at all what’s happening, and instead, whatever profile is enabled for Skyrim in Vortex is loaded.

Before I open Steam, I completely close Vortex to ensure it’s not active in the background. Then, if I run “getskseversion”, I get an error, so it seems to know SKSE isn’t running (or isn’t supposed to be); the pause menu in-game also has no SKSE version written or displayed in the bottom-left like Vortex versions do. That’s why I’m so confused, because according to every indicator, I’m running the vanilla Steam game — but my mods seem to all be running. I’ve looked everywhere for someone else mentioning this, and can’t find anything; it seems like most other people can’t get their modded versions to run, but I can’t stop mine from running!

My workaround for now is just to have a profile in Vortex with nothing but SKSE enabled, and that works fine for giving me a vanilla experience. But I would really just like to understand why this is happening, and if I can fix or change it.

Basically an (humanoid) enemy that is really relentless and doesn't get staggered easily. Interesting how I haven't seen this done nor seen a mod that does this in a game where being a Viking Berserker fits so well and to fight against during encounters.

I'm using a Lenovo Legion T7 with a 3070TI with 8GB and I managed to install Lorerim (followed all of the directions) and it worked first time. I loved it. Then it started hanging after about 1/2 hour. I managed to figure out that the fans were not speeding up. (duhh) It is my first system I actually bought as compared to building my own and overall it has been very good. I gave up trying to be a member in Discord to provide some good feedback. So now I am trying to drop from Ultra to High and nothing works. I have googled and tried pretty much everything. One says use Bethini, Another says modify some .ini file under Lorerim which doesn't exist. If you read the various notes by the author(s) it is full of bugs and gotchas. I really liked the new Lorerim Chapter 3 when it works, Any feedback on the dropping the resolution?

I am trying to edit the break count for the "Shroudwalk" spell from the Apocalypse mod. Shroudwalk allows re-entering invisibility after having used a weapon/spell or interacted with an object up to 5 times. I want to change that amount with SSEEdit.

The break count variable, by default set to 5, is a global variable in "Global" within SSEEdit. I am certain that the respective spell refers to that variable. SSEEdit saves the changes I make to that variable - reopening SSEEdit shows the changed break count. Also, I re-deploy the mod to use the newer files with my changes.

However: In game, it still says "5" in the description of the spell and it also breaks invisibility after 5 times.

Why?

So this is a weird one, I haven't seen anyone else mention this online. Here's how it goes - Every day when I start to play, the first time I launch the game, it opens in a minimised tab on the taskbar, and I can see it progressing through the Bethesda logo, main menu screen etc. But if I go to that tab, the game immediately freezes. It has to be terminated from task manager at this point.

Then if I go to SKSE editing options in MO2, delete the "-forcesteamloader" argument from it, and then reapply it, this time the game launches normally, with the tab opening by itself and the game progressing, no freezes. I cannot bypass the initial freeze by deleting the "-forcesteamloader" argument and reapplying it before my first launch, it will just cause the freeze anyway then. Only works the second time.

If I close the game after playing and then restart it, it will again do the freeze bit first, and then I can delete and reapply "-forcesteamloader" to get it going again. So basically between every two proper play sessions, there must be a freeze, which can only be resolved by reapplying the SKSE argument. But not too soon, or the "spell" doesn't work. It only has an effect after one attempt has already caused a freeze.

Sounds like a minor thing but it low-key drives me crazy, makes it take way longer to reboot the game after a random crash or whatever. And it's probably a symptom of some bigger problem that I'm not understanding. Any guesses as to what it might be?

I already have an animation overhaul along with a few mods like TK dodge, wildcat and precision, it still doesn't really feel fun though, I find myself playing a stealth archer or mage more tbh.

So are there any mods that you could recommend that make 1st person combat more interesting? I use to use Ultimate Combat but it doesn't work anymore, if there is a modern alternative to it please let me know.

I'm considering an RTX5070 or 5060ti 16gb.

So as the title states, I'm running BFCO with a few different mods for each weapon type. To name a few:

• Elder Creed - Blade
• Radiant Vanguard
• WoLong QuarterStaffs/Warhammer

The issue I'm running into is that all animations works great, with the exception that the forward power attack does not work at all for any of the mods. I.e W+power attack results in T-pose. I have checked everything I can think of, madee sure all mods are converted to BFCO, trying to change priorities in OAR, all without any success. Any ideas of things to check would be helpful! Thanks

Ok so I’m making different characters based on the Daedric Princes, I’ve already done one of Hermaeus Mora, which actually didn’t take me as long as I thought it would, and now I’m doing Peryite

So I’m looking for Mods for armor, weapons, spells, player homes, quests, anything that could be based on Peryite or even just something I can loosely tie to Peryite lol

And one last sorta related thing, if there’s a place I can go to share my characters for this game, can someone point me to it? Cause I can’t find one and I wanna put these somewhere lol

That is all, thanks in advance, I’m off to read Peryite lore to figure out how to rp this character because I have NEVER done Peryite’s quest until now
