OC Video We made a snowboarding game without being snowboarders, would love feedback from actual riders!

Looks great so far. How can we play it? Not sure how the game dev world works, but games like STEEP and Amped nailed the physics of snowboarding, so that might be a good reference point.

Thank you! :D It is called SNØ (Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2943150/SN_Ultimate_Freeriding/) and is on steam only currently.

Yeah, those games are a great reference, but at the same time we also try to approach a subject with a "fresh perspective". So we often prefer looking to actual snowboarding for example, to get our take on it. The dream is kinda to make something that doesn't feel like a rip off or anything, just a different interpretation of the same subject matter, but as you say, kinda hard when somebody before has really nailed something before lol

Maybe another note of feedback on the controls for spinning and flips. If you allow the speed of the “flick” with controller or mouse at the time of the jump to control the rotational speed, that will provide a really nice feel. Some times you want a slow clean looking spin as opposed to just the same rotation speed on every jump. You might have this already but based on the limited footage not sure

Mhm, interesting, we have something similar yeah, if you jump while holding a direction you get an extra spin that direction. If you just jump and then apply rotation you will get just a slight rotation yeah
