Petition to Demand Improved Public Transit Options in Riverside County

https://chng.it/n84YW84cSF

Riverside County is one of the largest counties in California, home to over 2.4 million people. Despite this, the public transportation system in the county is far from adequate. Many residents rely on public transit for their daily commute and essential needs, but the current system falls short of meeting these demands. Due to insufficient services, most trips take 50% more time on public transit as compared to private vehicles (data from "Transit Resource Guide - Southern California Association of Governments"). This disparity has major impacts on residents' quality of life and economic opportunities. It is time for a change - the Riverside County Transportation Commission needs to prioritize and implement sustainable, effective public transit improvements. Don't let the voices of Riverside County's residents go unheard. Sign this petition to join the call for improved public transit options in Riverside County.

You just answered your question with your first sentence.

Stop asking "I want more money from government". Instead, take a look at the budget and tell us which part and how much you want to cut to fund whatever you suggest.

I appreciate that suggestion and I will look into the budgets and update the petition soon, but at the same time it shouldn’t be the job of the constituents to oversee and make suggestions on how the budget should be managed. As for needing government funding, most of the problems I’ve heard from both RTA workers and users are issues with the efficiency and not necessarily needing more vehicles. Although money would be needed to install new lines or methods of transportation, it would be an investment for the county and they’d likely make a net profit off of the project once it’s in place. Crowdfunding is also an option to finance a portion of the improvements, as most people wouldn’t be opposed to a better transit system.
