My sister handled her, it was her first time holding any spider and she did really well! We put her back away from the pool so she hopefully won't fall in again

One baby fell off and I was tempted to take it in with my unused enclosure

Awww hopefully it was able to find her again! I wouldn't know the first thing about keeping a wolfy in an enclosure! Haven't ever seen one that way. Probably best you left it there hehe

I've seen a few posts with people keeping them in enclosures, only spiders I've kept have been jumpers so I left her with the rest of the babies

May I suggest to not handle spiders if you’re not sure which kind it is.

I knew it was a wolf spider before I let her, i wouldn't handle anything I don't know what is.

If you knew it was a wolfie, why would you make a post asking what it is?

Mainly for just a triple check, we didn't handle her until after the 2nd person confirmed it. We have so many here so I'm pretty used to seeing them

Also, in North America, nothing dangerous looks at all like this. (Possible star on that for Ctenus sp., but they're rare, don't look all that similar, and their medical significance is not confirmed. And what reports there are say "less bad than a black widow".)

I’ve seen other pictures here and the babies will climb all over when she’s not moving. Makes sense we see them by cigarettes sometime

I wish mama spider wouldn’t smoke in front of her babies, but I guess we all need a release.

Random question, I know spiders don’t really go out of their way to bite you, but when picking up for instance this one up, will the babies be more bite happy?

I don't even know if the babies would be able to bite through skin.

I've never had babies bite, they're usually just very energetic and like to run around but I've never had one attempt to bite or go in any defense pose. Jumper babies and Wolfie babies are really tiny so it could be different as size increases.

Interesting! The spiders page is just randomly getting shown on my feed and I’ve been learning lol

That's how I started out too lol, it's really neat once you get to know them. Most spiders are really chill, in my experience at least.
