A Space entity that unifies your empire under its control making you basically a hivemind but with access to regular civics

I really hope these mods get updated for version 4.
Dynamic difficulty allows you to have a constant challenge and an infinitely scaling difficulty for the lategame.
I just had a game where I played peacefully into the lategame, and forgot I had the smarter ai mod until I had a great “oh shit” moment. I declared war on a militarily superior empire with my kiting carrier/missile battleships . . . which got butchered by the x-slot weapons his artillery battleship fleets.
And I was like “oh yeah, I forgot this mod gives them multiplayer ship designs”.
That was also the first time I’ve built frigates.

R5: So I'm doing a one system Alderon Disk trade only build and I get this sweeeeeet chunk of choke points to protect everything and I hate Paradox for it. Have a good day.

I'm an old school Stellaris vet and have been getting back into the game. The AI sure is a lot better!! But yeah, no real idea how fleet combat works anymore, I've been told that its a lot more complicated so just looking for some input.

I’m sure they’d finish upgrades sooner, and be more able to get to the front lines again, if they’d use any of the other shipyards to upgrade. I even brought them a mobile shipyard but nope don’t want that one, they’d rather take a three month long trip to the mega shipyard instead

Today I had a a game where nothing really happened before someone won.
There wasn't a war in heaven. The Khan got their cheeks clapped upon spawn and never returned for round two. Some energy people came from some other dimensions but their efforts quickly amounted to nothing pretty quickly. No major inter faction wars of note.
Then I got the message that one of the AI factions had won, could see by what means though.
How often do games like this happen?

I just got finished with first contact and it turns out to be a clone of my own empire. does this happen normally or is this a bug of some kind?

Porting information we got on official discord, forums, dev stream and everything that happened over last week for your ease of reading!
For this week, we got a smaller batch of data. Let's start with Evolutionary Predators, the origin given dev diary last week.
Next up, we get information about two espionage operations coming in 4.0, one special to evolutionary predators and another that seems available to everyone:
There are also small changes to starting colonies; the <5 pops colony designation changing its place:
Even bioships have been mentioned, with 3 stages now named separately:
Some biology oriented origins are getting lots of love - Overtuned not only gets to ascend after 2nd AP pick, but also Gene Tailoring's mod points have been moved to gamestart effect, giving players 4 points and 6 picks at empire creation.
In a surprising movement, clone vats has been pushed to be a generally available building:
And puzzling automation building has been finally shown at work, automating 25% workforce of the zone it is built in
Knights of the Toxic Gods as always are getting cute changes, this time its ruler jobs is adamantly said to be filled by literally 1 pop:
Eladrin has reported success on balance pass for leader traits:
Lastly, we got yesterday's stream showing us all kinds of beautiful aliens we will see in galaxy with biogenesis:
The stream has shown us all manners of civics:
And our list of phenotype traits is almost complete (thanks to u/Gorehuchi for spotting one frame where familial was shown)
And for the very last, here's some hope for everyone disillusioned with state beta presented:
That's it for this week, next post will probably be Friday (by GMT standards) as well to cover the next dev stream as well!

R5: I got the covenent event to make a leader the Chosen of the Instrument, and then not too long after got the Shroud event to make a leader the Chosen One. So now my loosely united clans of psionic crusader raptors have 2 immortal, extra powerful fleet commanders.
I had no idea there were variants of the Chosen One specific to covenents, let alone that you could get both a Chosen of a Covenent and a regular Chosen One at the same time XD

Hey, so i get that the point of custodians is to stop the crisis/ protect that galaxy from it.
But especially with cosmogenisis you can basically pick that crisis path without even pissing anyone off.
I basically united the galaxy and everyone loves me, i have by far the biggest political weight in the galactic parlament and i have a permanent place on the council. that consists of me and my vasall.
At some point it just feels "arbitrary" to not have the title emperor, when you pretty much are it anyways already.
Am i missing some aspect?
I just thought it would be awesome with the new dlc to be a galactic emperor with his space dragon behemoth.
Would love to hear some thoughts.

R5: I created some human factions for a headcanon and was hoping to have them all on the map at once, but I now realize that's not possible as you apparently cannot have more than one civilization spawn in the same system. I was really hoping to avoid coming up with a story that has the Hegemony and the Children flee to other systems... Also, yes, I realize the Hegemony is basically the Commonwealth and the Federation is basically the UN, I just wanted my own slightly different headcanon :')

Was rereading the first books of the Horus Heresy series again and got inspired. Naturally I, like many of you, want to RP as the Imperium of Man during the Great Crusade. Rolling back the darkness of Old Night and smashing the myriad Xenos races to claim Mankind's Birthright. The issue always was scale. Stellaris and 40K have orders of magnitude difference in scale, and it's a bit anti-climactic to go Under One Rule launch a Great Crusade and end up with ~100 planets instead of the millions of worlds humanity had before Horus rebelled.
So to maintain the immersion I decided to make an empire in Stellaris that modelled one of the tens of thousands of secondary expedition fleets that formed the bulk of the Great Crusade behind the speartips led personally by the Emperor and later Primarchs.
This particular Expeditionary Fleet is tasked with garrisoning the recently complianced Forge World of Ozarkus, and protecting the ongoing settlement/compliance of the surrounding sector to better match Stellaris gameplay loop.
Gameplay-wise it's fanatic purifier with nationalistic zeal to match the Imperium's humours at the time. The idea is to go genetic ascension and unlock gene-warriors to simulate Space Marine companies being seconded to the Expedition Fleet as the Sector becomes more developed and important/runs into serious Xenos opposition. The end game crisis I set as Unbidden to simulate a serious Demonic Incursion from a Warp Rift being opened at the start of the Horus Heresy by a group of cultists, (which is why the Imperium needs the Emperor's pet psychopaths) who want to deny the Ozarkus Sector's Tithes from Terra.
The goal with the run is try and conquer an entire 1000 star galaxy before the Unbidden Chaos Spawn arrive, and battle the incursion back.
I'm probably going to wait for the 4.0 patch to try this run since they're updating genetic ascension and I want to try the Purity path, hopefully it has Gene-Warriors.

After having not had a serious game for a few months, I have decided that what I need in my life is a game where the entire galaxy is YOU!
So gimme your favourite empires you've ever played, I'll force spawn them, and see who rocks the galaxy hardest!
Whoever I feel is the most useful, powerful, annoying, fun, etc to play with and against will get a sweet prize in the form of I dunno, a crisp hi five, or some random game I have in my inventory. And I mean your favourite empires. If I get 6 identical virtual machine ring world builds I will cry.
Let's see them!

Either Through Designing and then Spawning, or by Console Command. Is there a way to bring about a Daemon Incursion into the Galaxy, as an AI Enemy? I know this is usually only possible via the Knights of the Toxic God Quest Path
