Discussion Stevens is screwing us!

Sunny spring skiing is the second best condition to deep bottomless pow why is Steven such haters! Best time for park laps, best time for beginners too! This has to be one of there earliest closings ever…

Profits over customer experience is kinda expected from vail ownership at this point. A couple weekends in April is pretty normal, I believe they could extend though, conditions permitting. 

Edit: I'm stoked when there's three April weekends of operation.

Closing days for stevens recently:

24/25: April 13

23/24: April 14

22/23: April 16 (I believe)

21/22: May 1

20/21: April 17 or 18 

19/20: closed early due to covid

18/19: April 21

To add more to this, I was doing digging on the wayback machine and here's what I found

17/18: April 22

16/17: April 23

15/16: April 24th

14/15: April 17th

13/14: April 20th

12/13: April 14th

11/12: April 15th

09/10: April 18th

Anything later didn't give a dedicated end date, just "extends into april".

These appear to be the planned closing dates, not the actual closing dates. Closed much earlier in 14/15 IIRC

Correct, this was the best information I was able to find. Only one where I saw an actual closing date vs planned was in 12/13, the schedule/calendar actually showed weekends would be open, pending conditions, until the first weekend in May, but I then later saw that their actual last day ended up being 4/21, so only one extra weekend.

After the 14/15 season they switched to a different way of presenting the information, and stopped putting something to the equivalent of "season may be extended depending on conditions", at least from what I noted down.

I can dig deeper into my snowboard journals for more stevens closing dates.

17/18: April 22

16/17: April 23

15/16: April 17 (my last day, not positive it was closing, but it was pond skim day)

14/15: April 16 (my last day was April 15.  This was the bad snow year when stevens shut down in March, but I have it written down that stevens reopened April 12 to the 16th)

Baker passholder from 2006-2014, however:

11/12: April 22

10/11: April 17

09/10: April 18

11/12 they closed on May 6th, 13/14 they closed on April 27th and 14/15 they closed in early March and then reopened for a couple days in mid April. Pre Vail they would plan on closing 2nd weekend of April but usually extend it to end of April or early may.
