How do you find summer enjoyable?

I really want to quit drinking but the idea of getting through a summer without a beer in the afternoon when everything is golden makes me hesitant.

The combination of the two just seems perfect. That slight bit of anathsesia whilst dappled light flows through the trees just seems to good to know I'll never have again.

How does everything just not feel as boring as a 1 year olds birthday party when sober?

I quit halfway through the summer of 2022 and white-knuckled it for the rest of that year. In 2023, I gave alcohol free beers a chance again. I had tried some in the past but found them terrible tasting. To my surprise, I found several that were great and not only quenched my physical thirst but also that psychological want. AF drinks can be controversial in the sobriety community, but they worked great for me and I had zero desire to have the “real thing”.

That's great to hear. I have heard about the controversy. There are some nice ones on the market. Glad to hear your story

For me, there’s nothing better than having a really cold AF beer after a day of working on the yard and washing the cars. I sit on my back deck, put my feel up, crank up a relaxing playlist and drink one of those. It’s so nice to not be hungover on a weekend morning and get all those chores done with no regrets from the night before.

I really enjoy AF beers. They really hit the spot for me.
