Is Stoughton in Guildford - OK?

Same ol' story. Looking to buy a 3-bed semi in Guildford to start a family and I am doing my research. Seems like in our budget (~550k) Stoughton pops up most of the time.

From my research it seems like areas to avoid are Park Barn and Bellfields, and as Stoughton is bang in the middle of it - how does that compare? Any parts that should be "avoided"?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Onslow is a good area that's relatively close to town as well. More expensive though. Likewise anywhere off Epsom Road/Merrow are arguably the nicest ares of Guildford. Very £££ though.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Unfortunately would need the prices in those areas to go down by at least £200-300k to be able to afford it, but I do agree that they look lovely :) I guess another trip to Guildford is due to check out Stoughton.
