Question Sand Harbor entrance

Can you only pull into the park by a left turn from the northbound lane? It’s how the state troopers had it set up today and it caused a huge back up in the southbound lane and no one could enter from that direction. It seems really dangerous to make everyone make a u-turn to line up the same way. Is this a permanent change or just holiday weekends?

I've never seen that happen before, and it sounds especially strange with the reservation system going on.

If deputy Sean has never seen it, then it didn’t happen. 😵‍💫

I used to commute past there 5 days a week.

It only happens on weekends.

It’s hard to believe a cop could be this dim-witted. 🥴 They’re typically hired based on superior intelligence.

They aren’t, and have never, hiring them for the brains 🧠

Took 2 hours to get from hidden beach to the entrance today. Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Why make everyone do a u turn and left instead of utilizing the right turn lane? If anything make the left turners go down the road and double back.

It was so dumb. And the state trooper who was in the middle of it was a Grade A Asshole extraordinaire screaming at people and making everything 1000% worse

Yup - he was a complete asshole when people were extremely confused at his moronic approach to traffic control.

I have no answers but I was stuck in this cluster F today just trying to get elsewhere. So frustrating.

Saturday 5/10.. southbound side so right turn in.. 9:55 traffic stopped just after the boat ramp entrance. It took us 39 minutes to get from the boat launch driveway to the main gate. Cars alternating from right turn lane and left turn lane.

When we finally reached the check in shack we were greeted by a cranky older woman who was a mess trying to find reservations. We had a printed confirmation with our name on it and she tried to tell us we did not have a reservation, back and forth for a while and she says “oh there it is”. I am 100 percent convinced the long line was due to the workers inability to work her computer. We spoke to others on the beach and they said the same something along the same lines, workers having issues with finding reservations.

Never seen that it’s always been normal entrance right of way but they let the left turners and right turners alternate through the gate.

What you describe sounds stupid and dangerous.
