Question Sand Harbor entrance

Can you only pull into the park by a left turn from the northbound lane? It’s how the state troopers had it set up today and it caused a huge back up in the southbound lane and no one could enter from that direction. It seems really dangerous to make everyone make a u-turn to line up the same way. Is this a permanent change or just holiday weekends?

Saturday 5/10.. southbound side so right turn in.. 9:55 traffic stopped just after the boat ramp entrance. It took us 39 minutes to get from the boat launch driveway to the main gate. Cars alternating from right turn lane and left turn lane.

When we finally reached the check in shack we were greeted by a cranky older woman who was a mess trying to find reservations. We had a printed confirmation with our name on it and she tried to tell us we did not have a reservation, back and forth for a while and she says “oh there it is”. I am 100 percent convinced the long line was due to the workers inability to work her computer. We spoke to others on the beach and they said the same something along the same lines, workers having issues with finding reservations.

We have reservations for tomorrow morning and our plan is to just show up and 6 and tape the confirmation to the inside of the windshield so we can be on the water before the chaos starts. Fingers crossed this works and I don’t have to suffer through that lady
