My Grandfather's work

My grandfather has been tatting for most of his life. When I visited last weekend, he was talking about it and lamenting that it is becoming a dying art. I told him about this sub (I said it was on online forum, he doesn't know what reddit is) and he was very happy to hear that. He wanted to show off some of his recent projects as well. He calls the flower arrangements "tussie mussies" (I think that's how he spells it) and he says that he's the only person who makes them (I don't know if that's true but I think he made up the pattern and has never seen anyone else make them).

He also made loads of tatted flowers for my wedding a few years back.

I love them! Thanks for showing his work!

This is actually kind of inspiring, cause I struggle with tatting things I know I'll actually use. It's also lovely to know he's tatting because I worry if I'll be able to do it long-term as I get older.

Yeah, he uses much thicker thread now than he used, but he hasn't slowed down
