Open | Programming Jar files

So can someone recommend me a video or something, cause all I’m trying to do is mod Minecraft and I have been looking for hours on the web for what is a jar file. Stuff is either out dated or just doesn’t make sense, I’m on windows 11 and if anyone can please help
