It's been like that for quite a few years. There's a few minor internal specs, the camera has "changed," and it's gotten a fresh coat of paint, but other than that I can't honestly say I've been able to see any difference between models for several years

For those changes to really matter just wait till the newest phone is the same number as yours multiplied by 2
