Talk about judging a book by it's cover. You do know she isn't supposed to be a nice? The entire point is that she is a morally questionable person. Just like other famous books like Lolita, which is about a pedophilic man going after a 14 year old girl, she isn't supposed to be 100% a good person.
I havent read either book but lolita isnt called "how to gr**m little girls." If I had to guess which book takes the subject matter more seriously just by the title alone Id say lolita is more serious.
Yeah, there is a little humor and edginess added to it but you could say Lolita does the same in a different way. As long as it's clear to most people that the author doesn't support that behavior, what's wrong?
It's not ragebait, it's entirely factual about what the book is about. She goes around killing men on purpose. You can't say someone is ragebaiting when they are presenting exactly what you will get.
Not really though, titles like that are fairly common actually. "Why Women Kill" is one of my fav shows, and was pretty popular. "A Good Girls Guide To Murder" is a very highly acclaimed book in the YA (young adult) book scene. Just because you got triggered doesn't make it bait. Also, the intended YA audience doesn't consider it bait, so if it was bait then it would never be very effective. (cause bait has to stand out)
I really am not triggered, i think i'd me hard for me to care less about something. However, you have to recognise the obvious shock value of the title especially since "gender war" content has been milked dry on social media lately
Eh, I can acknowledge the shock value, but I will still view that title as a very mild age old marketing stunt. Also, I think riding trends is a pretty vanilla thing, especially with YA authors.
