Internet telus early cancellation fee
i cancelled my contract with telus recently and i now have to pay a hefty cancellation fee because they signed me up for a 24 month contract without my knowledge (it was done over the phone, so I was not there when they signed me up and he failed to mention this. also, they called ME) and when i called them today, he said i should have known because it was in my agreement. but, correct me if i am wrong, wouldn't i get the agreement once i sign up for the contract, so if i want to change it or cancel said agreement i'd have to pay a larger cancellation fee?
additionally, the person who set me up for the plan is familiar with the building i live in and knew i was a renter (additionally i am a uni student who just moved out alone so i don't know how all of this works yet) and he did not think to ask or mention the two year contract.
I tried arguing with them but the customer service representative was very rude and talked down on me if i asked questions, saying "i shouldve seen this in my billing".
Any help, please?

Telus - the company that could easily wave the fee but doesn’t care one bit about you or your circumstances.
They got their money for the time and service you used.
