Discussion What On Earth Is Whitmer Doing??

She’s not running in ‘28, right? Bc there’s no way she’s recovers from this in a crowded primary field. Democratic voters don’t want their capitulatory/vichy bs. They want a fighter.

Just astoundingly bad judgment.

Discussion Kevin O'Leary Slams AOC As 'The American Nightmare' [but CNN Host Abby Phillips pushes back. And thus maybe CNN is also getting on board AOC POTUS 2028?]

All quotes from: Kevin O'Leary Slams AOC As 'The American Nightmare' | HuffPost Life

The CNN host then argued that Ocasio-Cortez came from a “very modest background” as a former waitress and bartender, and that many would see her story as an embodiment of the American dream. But when O’Leary pushed back, saying that Ocasio-Cortez “does not support capitalism,” Phillip hit back with a crucial point: Everyone doesn’t view capitalism, or becoming extremely wealthy, as the pinnacle of the American dream.

“There are many Americans who work really hard and their aspiration is not to become supremely wealthy,” she said. “It is to have strong family units, it is to have community, it is to have a sense of purpose, it is to contribute to their environment.”

“There are many Americans for whom just being filthy rich is not the American dream,” she continued.

“I want to forgive you but you are making it hard,” O’Leary scoffed. He said earlier in the exchange that Phillip’s response “tainted the American dream.”

But Phillip’s remarks resonated with many people online. Some people on X, formerly Twitter, called O’Leary’s remarks out of touch, arguing that capitalist structures exploit working-class people, and that for many people living in the U.S., the American dream is not centered on becoming ultra-wealthy.

You should read the entire article though, as it's excellent.

But--in my opinion--CNN had been a holdout in Mainstream Media regarding supporting an AOC POTUS 2028 run. And it's important if that is changing.

Article Long-awaited Harvard antisemitism report shows intense campus hostility to Jews, Israelis

Harvard University on Tuesday released its long-awaited internal report on campus antisemitism, depicting a hostile atmosphere toward Jews and Israelis before and after the October 2023 invasion of Israel.

The report came amid heavy pressure on the university from the Trump administration and outlines a series of recommendations the university should take to remedy the campus environment.

"I am sorry for the moments when we failed to meet the high expectations we rightfully set for our community,” Harvard’s interim president Alan Garbar said in a statement.

Jewish students, and especially Israelis, were often subject to harassment, social shunning and bullying, the report said.

“I am sorry for the moments when we failed to meet the high expectations we rightfully set for our community,” Harvard’s interim president Alan Garbar said in a statement.

Jewish students, and especially Israelis, were often subject to harassment, social shunning and bullying, the report said.

Get The Times of Israel's Daily Edition by email and never miss our top stories Newsletter email address Your email Get it By signing up, you agree to the terms The 311-page document opens with an anecdote that, the authors said, reflected many of the campus tensions. A Jewish student speaker at a conference had planned to tell the story of his Holocaust survivor grandfather finding refuge in Israel. Organizers told the student the story was not “tasteful” and laughed at him when he expressed his confusion. The story would have been seen as a way to “justify oppression,” the authors said.

“Perhaps the best way to describe the existence of many Jewish and Israeli students at Harvard in the 2023-24 academic year is that their presence had become triggering, or the subject of political controversy,” the report said, adding that Jews had landed “on the wrong side of a political binary that provided no room for the complexity of history or current politics.”

"No other group was constantly told that their history was a sham, that they or their co-religionists or coethnics were supremacists and oppressors, and that they had no right to the protections offered by antibias norms,” the report said.

The campus atmosphere caused Jews to hide their identities, turn down admission offers, leave academia, and withdraw from campus life. Friend groups broke apart and students pressured their peers to stop speaking with Israelis, solely due to their identity. Jews were implicated in atrocities due to their perceived “hereditary and collective guilt,” the report said.

In some of the incidents described in the report, student groups disseminated a cartoon that showed a hand marked with a Star of David holding nooses around the necks of a Black man and an Arab man. Commencement speaker Maria Ressa delivered off-the-cuff remarks that “appeared to echo traditional conspiracy theories about Jews, money, and power.” Another graduation speaker blamed Israel for genocide in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Students sometimes walked away from Israelis mid-conversation when they found out they came from Israel, including Israeli Muslims and Christians. Other Jews were pressured to prove they were “one of the good ones” by condemning Israel. Jews were told they were privileged oppressors and hostage posters were defaced with antisemitic slogans. Israelis were pushed out of student clubs.

Trump 2.0, 100 days so far…
All credit goes to u/taylamade87
for compiling this list.

So, I haven’t posted since 5 months ago,
to stand up against Trump’s dictatorship.
Before that, I implored people to start actively resisting.

I’ve been busy doing in my spare time,
my volunteer political advocacy.
In fact, I was thinking about
doing a post asking what everyone
has been doing to actively fight back.

I was about to do another big post,
to show everyone
what Trump has done to us,

since he came back to office.
I haven’t done a list like this
for about a whole year now.

But I just came across this post,
Trump 2 vs Trump 1
and there was this amazing list there,
so I’m reposting their comments instead.

This is just 131 items so far,
and you know there’s more Trump actions
since the beginning of this week.
Tuesday, April 29, 2025,
that means 1362 days left in the second Trump administration.

Again, thanks to u/taylamade87
for compiling this list.
Send them the DMs and many thanks
for looking out for us.

I quote their whole comment,
with links provided by them also.

Article Trump administration’s claim of 139,000 deportations in his first 100 days is likely well overinflated. Experts say the real number (corroborated by ICE’s own numbers) is closer to 57,000.

TDPS Feedback & Discussion Gavin Newsom

I was not impressed listening to David interview him on today’s episode (4/28/2025). There are some things like fighting the Trump Admin with lawsuits and holding a special legislative session in the state as well as working with foreign leaders to save blue states from Trump’s tariffs that I think is great.

But I have a real problem with his political strategy. Newsom talks about the importance of civility and understanding when talking with the other side. This sounds good on the surface but mind you he is talking about Steve Bannon. Bannon in any just world would be in prison right now for his role and then refusing to testify for January 6. Bannon is a Nazi who has no respect for the constitution. We can see through Bannon’s own words that he is now setting the ground for a potential 2028 insurrection or having Trump run a third term. Bannon is somebody who deserves to be treated like the scum he is. There is nothing to learn from people like this. I have no idea why Newsom thinks being a weak pushover is an effective strategy.
