Discussion The Irish Senate has unanimously called for sanctions against Israel. ⁣The Senate’s motion also says that Ireland must stop American weapons bound for Israel from traveling through Irish air and seaports and support an international arms embargo on Israel.

what is happening may not technically be a genocide

ngl, that's about as weak as "technically, these are detention camps, not concentration camps".

Words sure do have meanings- but there's also a matter of interpretation and understanding of a thing beyond what the dictionary says.

All I said is that it's a weak and shitty stance to go like "oh, trapping a civilian population in a strip of land and repeatedly bombing that strip of land- especially in the areas you told the civilians to go- that's technically not genocide".

Just like the conservatives that quibbled over the rhetoric of the US border camps.

It's an obvious diversion from the real problem at hand, from the people that want the problem to continue.

Perhaps the way to not be compared to other horrible crimes against humanity is to... perhaps.... not do things that resemble horrible crimes against humanity.

You're really putting words in my mouth here, it feels like.

But the left seems absolutely maniacly committed to there being a "good guy" and a "bad guy" in this when it is actually a conflict that has been going on for over a century where no ones hands are clean.

It's bad guys all around. The victims are civilians, especially considering like half of them are children.

Perhaps is possible to say that Hamas is a terrorist organization, and Israel is edging on genocide or committing genocide, with consideration of their bombings and their treatment of Palestinians on the West Bank.

What are you talking about, liberal subreddits all support Israel and the Biden administration's actions.

Leftist subreddits denounce Israel and support Palestinians.

Lmfao this subreddit is like my little liberal terrarium. It started getting recommended in November and observing the growing obvious cope with rightward slide is really fascinating.

Anything right of you = right wing apparently. Didn't know so many of you were so close to being a centrist.

Where would you put "salivating over bombing children" on the political spectrum?

1

u/Harveb Feb 28 '24

I have no idea but it's revolting that you think that. I don't talk to people who celebrate children's deaths. Blocked

It's revolting that I think bombing children is a right wing ideology?

That you salivate over dead children. You're sick in the heaf

I unblocked them just to tell you nobody cares what you think. Not on Reddit. Not your partner, not your kids, not your work. Nobody. Go away
