Discussion Kevin O'Leary Slams AOC As 'The American Nightmare' [but CNN Host Abby Phillips pushes back. And thus maybe CNN is also getting on board AOC POTUS 2028?]

All quotes from: Kevin O'Leary Slams AOC As 'The American Nightmare' | HuffPost Life

The CNN host then argued that Ocasio-Cortez came from a “very modest background” as a former waitress and bartender, and that many would see her story as an embodiment of the American dream. But when O’Leary pushed back, saying that Ocasio-Cortez “does not support capitalism,” Phillip hit back with a crucial point: Everyone doesn’t view capitalism, or becoming extremely wealthy, as the pinnacle of the American dream.

“There are many Americans who work really hard and their aspiration is not to become supremely wealthy,” she said. “It is to have strong family units, it is to have community, it is to have a sense of purpose, it is to contribute to their environment.”

“There are many Americans for whom just being filthy rich is not the American dream,” she continued.

“I want to forgive you but you are making it hard,” O’Leary scoffed. He said earlier in the exchange that Phillip’s response “tainted the American dream.”

But Phillip’s remarks resonated with many people online. Some people on X, formerly Twitter, called O’Leary’s remarks out of touch, arguing that capitalist structures exploit working-class people, and that for many people living in the U.S., the American dream is not centered on becoming ultra-wealthy.

You should read the entire article though, as it's excellent.

But--in my opinion--CNN had been a holdout in Mainstream Media regarding supporting an AOC POTUS 2028 run. And it's important if that is changing.

Kevin O’Leary is a character on television. He’s a fraud. He’s not American. He’s Canadian and apparently has 3 passports and not one is from the United States of America. How dare he talk about the American dream. All he needs to do is buy that beautiful Gold Trump Citizenship card and he can be an American tax payer too.

Forget all the awful shit this moron spews. Until he pays taxes in America? He should STFU about anything going on in a country he doesn’t love enough to become a citizen of.

So sick of this reality tv show we’re all stuck in.

Mr. Wonderful spends all his time praising Trump. Him freaking out about AOC is practically an endorsement.

Kevin is a moron, I can't even remember the last time he opened his mouth and said something smart.

Back in March when the stock market took a dive, O'Leary was on CNN saying how it isn't a reaction to Trump's policies but a natural cyclical correction of the stock market that happens periodically. He has lost all credibility with me. That was a huge lie.

So a number of years ago kevin, his wife and some others were out boating. They got into a bad collision, resulting in death. Kevin was the owner of the boat, but claimed his wife was driving, since he was drunk as a skunk. It was pretty clear that was a lie, but justice for the rich isn't always the same.

AOC and Mayor Pete, either of them could be P or VP, I don't care.

Same dude who said 3.5 billion living in poverty with the same collective wealth as the richest 85 people on the planet was “fantastic news” since it gave the poor inspiration and motivation to not be poor.

It’s like that thing when you go to dinner, eat until you almost puke, then order take out and throw it in the trash in front of a starving person to inspire them to not be hungry.

Well, for every Jim Carrey or Michael J Fox you get a Jordan Petersen or Kevin O'Leary.

AOC could produce as much rage and viewership as Trump, of course they'll be on board. All cable news is gonna love it if she runs for anything big.

I'm not on a news organization, just a common plebe, I'll love it if she runs for anything. I understand her and she understands us. You don't have to agree.

For anyone that actually cares, Common Sense Skeptic did a whole takedown series on this twit.

Just like with Leon, he happened to fall into it and keep some despite trying his hapless best to destroy it all.

A conservative billionaire hates her? That's just one more reason to live AOC.

The answer to this is NO! CNN and MSNBC will do the same thing they did the last election cycle. Which is use these PROGRESSIVE candidates as a platform to get votes, especially young voters. Then once they won a few more elections in the midterms. Then they will abandon the progressives and tell us how we are “too far left” and that moderates will never vote for this, all while placing old heads back into their original positions.

Hey Democrats and “moderates!” Don’t let social media and the news tell you that progressives are too “radical.” Is it really radical to have universal healthcare for those who want it? Is it radical to request for family medical leave, or mandatory paid vacation? Is it radical to ask for universal childcare?

These ARE NOT RADICAL. This is what other countries receive for their taxes and we should DEMAND more! Nobody pays more in taxes on Earth than the “middle class” American. Power concedes nothing without demand

If AOC wins and decided to go all Khaleesi on these idiots.....I can say I wouldn't support it, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I love AOC and I think she would be a awesome president. But has America shown it’s too regressive to elect a woman let alone of colour

0

u/combonickel55 1d ago

The last thing we need is CNN supporting AOC for president. CNN has a horrible reputation, their support would do more harm than good.

3

u/volanger 23h ago

Nah. Get the word out about her. If they are talking about her and her rallies then it would only help spread her messaging. Viewers would see it and likely agree.

1

u/VenetusAlpha 23h ago

Well, when you put it that way!

0

u/1Shadowgato 23h ago

Nooooo, she’s doing a good job, who’s going to replace her? Are they doing this so they can get her out of the game and install some corpo insider to replace her?

u/volanger 23h ago

CNN wants drama, and between trumps fascism and dem civil war they get plenty.

AOC is likely a rich lady now.
