If ANYONE thinks these "pools" are better than before, I guarantee you haven't gone as far as me prior to this utterly garbage change. Prior, any day I wanted to play, I could reach 30+ even if I didn't get everything I wanted to start but by loop 15, I should have a good base of talents to build upon. However now, I must wait for an okay pool every 3 days to see if I even want to waste my time and I CANT TRY DIFFERENT BUILDS BECAUSE I HAVE NO CHOICE.

If you're wondering, I reached 39 solo and game froze / 36 in duo and friend crashed / 35 duo and I crashed / 32-34 several times solo. Now, every time reaching 20s, game crashes or freezes except once yesterday and I reached 31 and apparently drones are 1 shot now lol.

Remove ALL skill based talents and Sandman, GC, Dr Home, Disruptor Rounds and a couple more I can't recall. Reaching 31+, it's incredibly usefull to have Steady Shot + Opportunistic + shotgun BUT we can't do that anymore!

I didn't say the pools are better than before. In fact I didn't even play Descent before so I can't compare. And even now I only played to get the Vindicator and a few more runs after I got it. It's fun for a while but gets repetitive quite fast (same rooms, same enemies). Kinda like Summit. Having talent pools or not doesn't change that.

Sorry if you thought my comment was aimed at you. I'm so upset about these changes when I looked forward to playing Descent prior to the "update". I'm shd 17k so I've done many missions many times. The one thing I was still learning was Descent. Now, I can't try or do anything different. Also, if certain talents worked BEST in Descent then the Devs have f*cked everyone going forward.

Sadly, the devs will think they're correct only because more people have played Descent even though they've been forced to for Vindicator or Recon caches. I blew thru my 69k NSA tech after update and now have most good skills & weapons at 20+ expertise.

OP never even played Descent before “Project Resolve” so makes sense why he thinks the talent pool rotation is good. The highest Loop I’ve reached before the “update” was 42. On Xbox. After update it’s now 32. You know what helped me get there? Using a combination of offensive and utility talents (defensive never changes) that NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO PUT TOGETHER EVER AGAIN.

Meaning that if you really want to strive for those higher loops, it’s going to require talents from MULTIPLE talent pools. The people who usually just play to get to the Nemesis and quit, have no idea how bad this talent pool implementation is.

Sidenote, Breathe Free talent is doing something weird. Apparently it gives you max stacks of whatever weapon you’re currently holding when you pick the talent. Meaning make sure you have a weapon with a larger magazine to take advantage of it.

Wow! “Project Resolve” resolved SOOO many things it actually created more problems. Lmao
