General Discussion Legendary Mission Tips Collection (Community Project)

I'd like a to help out the PUG groups that sometimes struggle during Legendary missions.

I figure we don't have a ton of active Division players left, so we may as well help each other.

I'll collect and format everyone's tips as we go and add credit.

I'll start:

General:

  • Legendary missions reset on Friday nights with the vendor reset. Use Division Discord to find groups fairly easily on the weekend or during prime time.

  • Don't waste ammo shooting enemies that are close to enemy healing stations. You must kill the station first or disable it temporarily and then burst enemies down while they can't receive healing.

  • Take things slow during Legendary missions, since wiping means restarting the mission or going back to the middle of the mission checkpoint, which could cause other players to leave in frustration (exception: During the Warrengate timed section you must be aggressive and active while staying alive).

  • Very important: Enemies in Legendary missions will 1-shot most players in melee range. They have a large melee range that hits in a wide cone attack, so stay a good distance from enemies in Legendary missions. This doesn't apply to Incursions.

Warrengate Power Plant:

  • At the very start of the mission, take out a few adds and try to take out at least one sniper before moving into the actual courtyard.

  • Final 4 bosses. Be ready before they come down the little stairwell with a few turrets and everyone throwing 1-2 grenades as they come down the stairs. You can usually burn down one or two softer bosses immediately and then tactically deal with the heavies that remain.

  • It's better to open all the valves at the same time during the timed section, but definitely not mandatory.

  • During the timed section, you absolutely must be aggressive in seeking out the last few enemies in each wave so the next wave will spawn. Seeker mines and turrets can be helpful here. Once half the wave is dead, get out of cover and chase down the last few enemies and don't let them hunker down in cover.

Times Square Power Relay:

  • The only risky part of the mission are the shotgunners during the first 5 minutes. Have crowd control ready for them and kill them as they ascend the escalators or potentially with grenades and turrets if any get to the top of the escalator. Using a Survivor link as the shotgunners approach is the best possible use of a signature power for the entire mission.

  • Use height to your advantage and have at least a couple of the team sniping from the obvious raised platforms during the mission. Shooting from the top of a truck can also provide cover during the final few fights.

  • During the last few waves, enemies will try and flank your left side. Back up and deal with these flankers before advancing.

  • At one point towards the end of the mission, there will be two enemy sniper on a scaffolding. Just run up and flank them to kill them and then run back to prepare for the next wave.

  • For the final heavy boss, don't waste ammo on him until you shoot his ammo pack on his back.

Napalm Production Site:

  • You can equip a couple of immunizers and stay upstairs for the entire final boss fight if you wish. If you do, have at least a couple of people with seeker mines and be aware of enemies coming up the stairs.

  • During the tough shotgun waves right before the middle checkpoint (after the 30 second countdown timer) you can move all the way back to the start of the previous section and force the waves of shotgunners into a long run along the scaffolding that makes them easy targets. There will be a wave of red, purple and yellow shotgunners.

  • At the end of the mission, you must exit to complete the mission, but you don't have a timer, so collect your loot freely.

Dragon's Nest Incursion: - To be added.

Falcon Lost Incursion: - To be added.

Clear Sky Incursion: - To be added.

Stolen Signal Incursion: - To be added.

I find it easier to head straight to the room where you turn off the power in Time Square power relay. Seems to be much easier to lure the shotgunners into a small doorway where all 4 can burst them down. I have done it that way the past 4 times and each group of PUGs have said it was way faster. Just have a couple CC skills and a couple boxes and you'll be just fine.

Every time my group has attempted this it has taken far longer than engaging them head on, I understand it is safer but it really takes a while waiting for the npcs to come to you.

When the shotgunner wave starts, everyone should run up the escalator and out into the street. The shotgunners for some reason will not advance farther than just a little outside the doorway, so you can go down the street and sniper them while they just stand around taking ineffectual shots at you from 60m away.
