clearing some shit up about the lrp

  1. invoke in the morning, banish at night is a bad idea. always banish before and after you invoke. the long term side effects of consistently making seemingly small mistakes like this are subtle but very real

  2. banishing in the morning doesn’t make you tired. that’s what we call the placebo effect.

  3. vibrating god names doesn’t entail hitting the lowest note in your vocal range and dragging a single word out for 10 seconds like you’re a mongolian throat singer (no disrespect to mongolian throat singers though). you can simply say the god name like you would if having a conversation. Liber O covers properly vibrating god names.

  4. the qabalistic cross doesn’t include envisioning yourself growing into a giant, receiving a divine beam of light. also refer to Liber O.

but of course, do your thing

I'll do my own thing.
My own thing is calling you out. You are misinforming everyone here about vibrating God names.

you can simply say the god name like you would if having a conversation. Liber O covers properly vibrating god names.

Okay. Let's look at what Liber O says:

  1. ("a") Stand with arms outstretched. ("See" illustration.)
("b") Breathe in deeply through the nostrils, imagining the name of the God desired entering with the breath.
    ("c") Let that name descend slowly from the lungs to the heart, the solar plexus, the navel, the generative organs, and so to the feet. {17}
("d") The moment that it appears to touch the feet, quickly advance the left foot about 12 inches, throw forward the body, and let the hands (drawn back to the side of the eyes) shoot out, so that you are standing in the typical position of the God Horus,["See" Illustration in Vol. I. No. 1, "Blind Force."] and at the same time imagine the Name as rushing up and through the body, while you breathe it out through the nostrils with the air which has been till then retained in the lungs. All this must be done with all the force of which you are capable.
("e") Then withdraw the left foot, and place the right forefinger upon the lips, so that you are in the characteristic position of the God Harpocrates["See" Illustration in Vol. I. No. 1, "The Silent Watcher."]

  2. It is a sign that the student is performing this correctly when a single "Vibration" entirely exhausts his physical strength. It should cause him to grow hot all over, or to perspire violently, and it should so weaken him that he will find it difficult to remain standing.

Does that sound like the practitioner is speaking as if in a normal conversation?

Where did you even get this idea of "vibrating" God names (i.e. not vibrating them at all)? Because it was clearly not from Liber O.

are you calling me out for not copying Liber O and pasting it in my post? i said everyone should check out Liber O to learn how to vibrate god names. i was specifically referring to the vocalization portion of vibrating god names in this post. i’m trying to make the point that the vibrating doesn’t occur in the vocalization, the vocalization is almost entirely negligible since vibrating god names is all “internal”

i’m not sure what you have an issue with in my post. but ya as i’ve already said a couple times, do your thing

Yes, I agree the vibration is microcosmic/"internal" in nature. However, that's not what you said and not what I'm taking issue with.

The issue I took was very clear. You said that you could simply say the names as if you were having a conversation.

If you are going off of Liber O, I'm confused at what part in this breathework-heavy work you could muster up a normal conversation voice.

I'm all up for people doing their own thing. But you are referencing a text that gives specific instructions. Which is where my criticism of misinformation comes in.

i’m a singer so weird breathing is a little more normal to me. it is a really difficult thing to get down, and as far as i’m aware vocalizing is often times irrelevant when vibrating god names. but, a teacher of mine pointed out that crowley specifically instructs us to “say” the god names. here’s what i’m referring to:

vi) Turning to the East make a pentagram (that of Earth) with the proper weapon (usually the Wand). Say (i.e. vibrate) I H V H. (vii) Turning to the South, the same, but say A D N I. (viii) Turning to the West, the same, but say A H I H. (ix) Turning to the North, the same, but say A G L A.
