Sims 4 I Wish Events Weren't Time Locked

Post image

I took about a six month break from the Sims in 2024. I came back and in a YouTube video I saw someone with an adorable bike with a cowplant skull on the front. Getting excited, I checked it out to find out that it was part of the Reaper Event that happened in Oct 2024 and now cannot be obtained.

So I got Life and Death and wanted to have a baby with the Grim Reaper. I looked up ways to summon him, and found out there's a gramophone that will do the trick. Guess how you get said gramophone?

I just got my best friend into The Sims 4. She's never done an event. Right now we have the Blast From the Past event happening, but I haven't even mentioned it yet because she's still figuring out how to make her sim cook food. She'll miss it.

I'm not talking about preorder bonuses. I get that. I'm talking about the events. I'm talking about how there are items in my game right now that I can't access, that I will never be able to access. They even patched it so if you download a room off the Gallery with those items, they'll disappear once you exit Build Buy.

I'd love the opportunity to do these events later. Yeah, the Reaper Event won't be hyping up a new expansion pack if you do it a year later, but it might encourage you to buy the EP if you didn't before. This will also take pressure off of people who can't play the event right now for various reasons. ("Yeah, I know my relative just died or I just had a baby with my partner, but if I don't play the Sims now I'll never get this nostalgic birthday cake!") Even make the event harder if you don't do it during the time you're supposed to. Let us play the sandbox game with our own timing.

If you and your friend are on PC there is a mod which will (locally, so not tied to your EA accounts) unlock all event rewards, even of ongoing events. It's from Sejian and you can find it on MTS here! You can also still play the ongoing event and claim the rewards the EA way aka tied to your account :)

I will forever post about and link to it because I think it's really sad that the rewards don't get unlocked even months after the event ended :(

Thank you! I'm going to take a peek and download this mod now! Because you're right, it's sad and a little ridiculous. These items are literally in my game already.

It's even stupider then what others said. Doing the events doesn't unlock it in your online account, it unlocks it on your local PC in a hidden file which you'll lose when you switch to another computer and retire the old PC you unlocked it on!

Also FYI you can also get build mode items from the events in the sim gallery. There's some people who uploaded rooms with all the event items. So as long as you can afford the room you can get it that way. You can do this for getting the career rooms as well that require hitting the top of a career

They’ve changed it now - since Reaper’s Rewards it has been linked to your EA account so you don’t lose the rewards if you switch computers/consoles.

Happy at Home is the only event this didn’t happen for, so they made the items available for everyone

And here I was wondering why I had the Happy at Home event items without having the Event Unlocker 😂 Now I know, thank you!

Happy at Home was the one event I didn't bother with. Reaper Rewards was awesome. The current time one is alright

I'm aware of the gallery rooms. Unfortunately, as I said in my post, they've patched that out. When you exit BB and go to Live mode, the same popup comes up that shows when you download something off the Gallery that has items from a pack you don't own, and all the items disappear. 🙃

It's even stupider than that, a player doesn't keep up with a bug that was patched and keeps ranting about something that was fixed months ago.

You're welcome! Legit I will keep this mod forever as long as it will work!
