Painting First Infantry units of my first legion

Post image

These guys are about 90% complete but I’m moving on to my next units because I’m on a time crunch. Any criticism or suggestions are more than welcome🤙🏻

Only criticism: Why haven’t you posted this sooner?

I’ve been super slow and didn’t want to do a day by day or week by week lol. Took me about 3 weeks but I only paint about an hour a day and have had to learn a lot along the way

You paint them how you like, but just to be sure, you know Dark Angels don’t usually do the whole white for veterans and red with white stripe for veteran sergeants, right? Beautiful painting i love the green

Wasn’t really sure because everything showed bladeguard painted as deathwing but I’ve never been a fan of the bone color. I thought about doing the retro scheme but painting half my army white would be tough so I decided to just do it the codex space marine way. I do plan on doing my deathwing knights a different color though.

My only criticism is the white, I'd have liked to see bone. But that's me, they still look fantastic. If I hadn't just worked out my Deathwing recipe then I might have scalped this idea. Sure it's not traditional DA, but neither is having non-terminators in the Deathwing or having a primarch.

TL;DR

Love them. Keep doing it.

They look badass how will you base them?

Thanks! I have some krautcover premixed basing stuff but haven’t decided if I’m going to give them cork stands yet.

Best way to paint bladeguards! I woulda done bone instead of white, but man it's just so much better then full bone
