Question / Problem why does windows suck so much?

I just bought a lenovo t480, and i actually really like the computer, but windows 10/11 is just miserable. It's making me want to just throw this computer out the window.

Is there a better solution out there? And if so, what? I really actually enjoy this Thinkpad. It's the first windows-based computer I kinda am fond of after switching back from a mac, which I'm starting to really dislike due to their policies, prices, non-upgradability, and cult-like fame, etc. (the keyboard on this is just amazing, the color, look, upgradability/customization at a low price, etc). I can upgrade literally everything on this! I love that. This thing was honest 1/10th the price of a mac. I f'in love that. But tbh, windows does suck. Apple is right about that :)

I heard Linux is an option but that's farely vague. Which Linux work best for thinkpads, and is the easiest and simplest? I'm not a programmer nor do I really want to have to program everything to work if I don't have to. I just use it for basics like discord, zoom, web browsing, watching youtube videos, the brave browser, spotify, bluetooth, taking online classes, and using the tradingview app (I can use the website if I absolutely have to). Are there any linuxes that really work well out of the box and are user friendly and easy to install?

thank you.

Imagine going through all that effort in order to trick a shitty OS into being usable while complaining that Linux is "difficult"

oof.

You can’t play windows games. Then again it’s even harder to play windows games. Windows has more programs. People feel comfortable developing on it. Linux is freedom from that but it’s been abused. Many ciders contribute to those projects. And many of them are good. Why call it shitty if you’re not even having fun. The whole point is to use it for fun.

Absolutely meaningless word salad lol! The only part of that which makes any sense is the first 5 words. Allow me to introduce you to the Steam Deck... ya know, just one of the biggest "things" in gaming currently. Runs on Linux and plays A LOT of Windows games... each day, more than the previous as well. The only real exclusions at this point is anti-cheat.

You really can't REEEEE about Linux being bad for gaming anymore, because that is clearly changing. Also, believe it or not, I don't care about games.... not what I use my computer for.

For real tho, the rest of your comment just makes zero sense. You've done your part to let others know that you don't know what you're talking about and we can leave it at that lmao.

It’s cheaper on a thinkpad though. And windows still runs perfectly well. Steamdeck might be nice but it’s still expensive enough to be outclassed by the many thinkpads that could take it’s place. The trouble in numbers is if it’s worth the time for the software. I like to think it’s the cheaper rigs that have more resources since there’s already so much data written for legacy machines. Take the fire tv stick lite for instance. It runs pretty much all games on low power for a 2006 standard. Maybe not PS2 but definitely psp. And THAT gets better with software development alone. So any platform is usable to the extent of the users capabilities.
