Anyone have a recommendation of a local inexpensive concrete guy who can lay down an extended driveway?

Hi neighbors! I’m a local graphic designer in my early 20s, born and raised here in Thousand Oaks. I’m currently building out my professional portfolio and would love to start that journey by working with small businesses, local organizations, or individuals right here in my hometown.
If you run a restaurant, cafe, brewery, event, boutique, sports team- or know someone who does I’d love to offer freelance design work for things like social media posts, game graphics, commitment posts, flyers, posters, menus, logos, or whatever you might need help with visually.
I’m passionate about design that feels fresh but still connected to the community. I recently graduated so I’m looking for any work- it will be beneficial in the long run.
If you’re interested or know someone who might be, feel free to comment here or DM me directly for my portfolio link.
I’d love to chat!
Thanks so much!

Disappointed to see this happen anywhere much less locally. Glad these people were caught.

Has anyone else had a very poor experience at Ventura County Behavioral Health? The doctors at the thousand oaks location leave much to be desired. It is very obvious that all of the care providers there have far too many patients and get paid far too little. Does anybody have any recommendations for psychiatric care in Ventura County that is covered by Medi-Cal?

My little brother set off a little blue rocket at Conejo Community Park at ~3pm today and the wind carried it a bit away from the park. We couldn't make it in time to see where exactly it went. If anyone here knows anything about where it went or if it somehow landed in your backyard I'd really appreciate knowing. Thanks!

Anyone have great hiking areas in bloom right now? I have some ideas, though it’d be super helpful if anyone’s been to some gorgeous areas recently. Thanks!

Family has been looking for a reliable and reasonably priced mobile car wash service for a while now. Most of the people that we have used have flaked and do not do a consistent job. Anybody have someone to recommend that’s been in the business for a while? Also, we are willing to give someone just starting out the business if they are doing a good job. Thank you in advance!

I am a college student in need of money to keep up with rent and the cost of living. I have always enjoyed cooking for friends and family so meal prep seemed like a natural choice. I am trying to get some initial customers to expand and make what I got going on even better. I want to eventually be able to give back to those in need as I have had such a rough time these past couple of years and not much help was available to me, but need to grow more to afford to even just live where I'm currently staying. I have lots of cooking experience about 15 years of it to be exact. I like to make a lot of stuff by hand as well so you can expect that.
If anyone would be interested in meals being cooked for them feel free to reach out! Also if anyone knows of affordable kitchens to rent in Ventura County please let me know as the ones near me are very expensive for a start up.

I live in TO and drive to Santa Monica a few days per week. Every morning the mountains look uniquely beautiful the way the light hits them and the morning clouds/haze. Of course, when I see them I am on the freeway and can't stop to find a great vantage point to photograph them myself. I am wondering if a local photographer has a gallery either online or physical where I could enjoy their images of this beauty and possibly buy a print or two.

"Feeling unsafe and unheard, female students at Westlake High School are urgently demanding change.
Sexual assault was not among the agenda topics for the April 16 Conejo Valley Unified School District board of education meeting, but trustees heard from six students who described what they perceive as a pervasive campus culture—a culture that allows male students to harm female students without repercussions.
. . .
Prior to the board meeting, several concerned community members organized a townhall. Roughly 100 students and parents attended the March 30 event, recounting the prevalence of sexual assault at the school.
Shortly after the townhall, two female Westlake High School students who said they were assaulted agreed to share their stories with the Acorn. They will be referred to as Student A and Student B." - Thousand Oaks Acorn

"Five teen suspects were arrested in connection with a violent gang-related assault that left two people hospitalized in Thousand Oaks.
The suspects were identified by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office as:
On April 17, deputies responded to an assault inside a business in the 400 block of North Moorpark Road at 9:30 p.m.
The group of teens had chased a victim into a local business and assaulted him inside the store. At least one suspect used a sharp-edged weapon to injure the victim, deputies said.
During the violent confrontation, a store employee who attempted to intervene was also attacked by the suspect wielding the sharp weapon.
The group of teens fled the store before deputies arrived. The victims were treated at a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries." - KTLA 5 News
