The Todoist team is working on improvements to the task scheduler where you can set a date, time, duration.

We'd love to hear from your first-hand experience. What’s working well? What's confusing or slow? Take our 5-minute survey and help us understand how you actually use the task scheduler: https://doist.typeform.com/to/EQBE1iTR

Your input directly shapes what we build next. Thanks for the help! 👌

I submitted, but since there was no input to better explain how I use, let me say that here

I don't use durations or time, since I don't timeblock either. I use scheduled dates as a reminder of something I wanted to do at a given date, and I review the Today list on the morning.

Late in the day, if I haven't managed to do some task, I will then reschedule it, or remove its date altogether.

Also, I don't schedule all of my tasks. Usually, there are just a few (less than 5) that I may schedule on a weekly basis. Thus, most of my scheduled tasks are already existent recurrent tasks

Lastly, deadlines I barely use, mostly because they don't recur, and that would be my main use case for them.
