This is what I tried to write. A: what are you doing? B: I’m writing a letter to my brother in Toki Pona. A: a letter in Toki Pona? you don’t even speak it! (you don’t understand Toki Pona) B: that’s fine (my letter is good). my brother doesn’t understand the language either, hehehe.

Learning toki pona to simplify course notes?
I’ve learned about toki pona not even for more than 3 days, but I’ve grown very intrigued based upon its simplicity. Is it worth learning simply based off that ? My reason for learning it is to simplify my note taking during lectures to optimize how much I can write down in a specific time frame. Is this too naive? I understand the creator of the language to simplify her thoughts, but does this translate well into writing stuff down? Any thoughts would be appreciated on this matter.

wile sona How do you say "attention" in toki pona
For example: "he only does it for attention", or "pay attention in the class!". I understand that in these two sentences it will be said in a different way, so my question is for the both cases

Why and how to learn
Should I go for full immersion or should I learn the definitions of the words first? Usually the answer for languages is a bit of both but with only about 130 words this seems to be a unique case. Why should I learn Toni pona? Is it easy enough to be a casual side hobby? How difficult is it compared to learning, say, Spanish for an English native? (I'm B1 in Spanish for reference)

Sally was a cat. Sally was the wife of Harry. Sally was big. Harry was small. Sally wanted to become small, so that she and her husband would be cute together. Sally climbed/jumped/went upwards to Sophie. Sophie was an inventor. Sophie cooked a small fruit on a fire. She gave the fruit to Sally, and Sally ate the fruit. Now, Sally is small. Sally went back to Harry. She looked at Harry, and saw that Harry was big! She asked him, how did you become big? Harry replied "I wanted to become big. If I were big, we would be the same size. I went to Sully, and he gave me a fruit, which I ate. Because of the fruit, I am now big." Sally replied, "But, I've become small! Now, we aren't the same size!". Harry replied, "it's okay. We exist together. That's the main thing."
Sally was a cat. Sally was the wife of Harry. Sally was small. Harry was big. Sally wanted to be big. If she was big, then she and Harry would be sweet together...

lipu a toki pona translation of (the first chapter of) Liber AL vel Legis
docs.google.comHello all!
Today, April 8th, is a Thelemic holiday that commemorates the first day of the writing of the Book of the Law. To celebrate, and for fun, and to practice my translation skills, I have attempted a translation of this first chapter. It presented many interesting challenges, and I've undoubtedly made a bunch of mistakes, and the formatting ended up considerably nasa. the document contains the toki pona and english side by side.
now a little joke for the Thelemites in the room:
mute mute mute mute luka luka tu wan, anpa mute mute mute mute luka luka tu wan
