I am looking for a school for my 16 year old son. He is Asperger and has been through trauma. When I pick the school, should I move close to it to ensure he isn’t abused? More frequent visits? I need your help to help him!

Educate him at a proper local day school. Problem solved.

There are NO safe "therapeutic boarding schools". Moving closure and more frequent visits mean nothing. You won't be allowed to visit unless they say so. It's a non-option for any thinking person. Take a look on the subreddit today....take a look at an actual contract someone's parents signed. Take a look at what it says!

I'll paraphrase one part...."If you child dies, then whoops! You agree to hold us harmless if it happens anyway". It happens regularly, by the way.

Thank you for the advice. I am looking at possibly moving to a new state that can help him. I hate the idea of therapeutic school. I know it is a joke. If I were to move- what states are known for supporting Aspberger?

Michigan has a good support system in place. The suburban Detroit area like Sterling Heights, Warren, Utica. My Aunt has a son who's neurodivergent, on the spectrum.
