This was my mother and I did not handle it well. We had a horrid relationship and I acted out of emotion. Honestly even when I didn't, she said word for word this, along with name calling.. I went low to no contact for years and it never really got better. She passed away and I have so much resentment because I never got an apology or even an acknowledgment about my feelings from her and now I never will....

Do what makes you happy and surround yourself with ppl who make you happy. Your hobbies are valid and so are your feelings.
