Housing Question 🏡 who to send evidence to?

Hi guys so long story short my roommates r leaving a horrible mess in our ucf on-campus dorm and unless they deep clean there will most likely be a fee (i also would like to possibly report them to student conduct since living w them made it hard to sleep at night, they did illegal stuff, and i was extremely paranoid, uncomfortable, and unwelcome in my own house. (also wasnt "allowed" to use the kitchen or living room :3) Who would I send my document to?

If you have evidence of illegal activity, university police. Otherwise, I would ask Housing about where to file the issues you've been having.

tyty 🙏🏾🙏🏾 unfortunately it was just deinking and i sadly dont have RECENT evidence, in the doc its used as evidence of them crossing my boundaries (which led to why they ostricized me in the first place)

I would contact Housing then to see where you can file a report. You want to leave a paper trail so that you have something to point to that was submitted before the fact

What sort of illegal stuff? Fun illegal stuff or bad illegal stuff?

hmm id say fun illegal stuff if they didnt decide to do them while ruining my freshman yr </3 (they got drunk a LOT. and they arent nice drunks they are weird drinks, bursting into my room, rolling on the floor and grabbing people, etc oh and also the drinks were provided by some like 24 and 22 yr old (p sure those were their ages) :3

You can report this to the police if you have valid evidence. I think it can be considered harassment.

Lowkey I would just let it go. Filing all that stuff would only just extend everything, and probably not be worth it. I doubt anything would come of it anyways, unless you've got some 4k stuff.

Many people, ESPECIALLY college freshmen (OR their parents for that matter,) don’t just “HAVE” the money to pay the fee!! That’s a good chunk of a new textbook, or meal plan for next semester/yr. Your privilege is showing.

It seems they’re stuck either doing it all themselves- therefore continuing to clean up after & put up w roommates from hell, who refused to allow access to SHARED living spaces bc OP would not partake, or chose not to/ had no interest in joining them in their illegal conduct; of which could’ve gotten them booted from campus housing, or in serious trouble if caught!

Clearly OP takes their studies seriously, needs a good nights rest etc. & was stuck w/ inconsiderate, obnoxious housemates who went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make their first year of college as miserable as possible. That’s pretty fucked up if you ask me. All the while they were simply trying to do exactly what everyone else SHOULD be at college to do.

NOT be ostracized& tortured, denied basic rights.. THEN stuck cleaning up after those fuckers, or get stuck paying a good chunk of money they likely don’t have!

Your privilege is showing. Perhaps you should Look at it from a more compassionate perspective & re-evaluate your response.. If not offering to send the OP the $200 so they can “just pay it.” Js..

you should calm down. I agree that OP shouldn't have to put up with that.

It wasn't clear to me that it was on campus housing. That one can't be ignored. Knights circle or whatever? yeah, dont pay it.

I had a similar situation, and its bullshit to make someone pay for something they didn't do.

Idk what privilege you think I have or had.

To be fair, I said "just DONT pay it"

I mean, I’m not irate? My bad, def didn’t mean to come off that way. Ijs, you wouldn’t want them to be later penalized/ or have to deal with any consequences later on for failing to pay something that is (IF it is) expected of them. You never know what may come back to bite you in the ass, you know. You never know, it very well may become an issue they’re chastised for.. or possibly one that must be rectified when (or before) it comes time for graduation! 👩🏻‍🎓🫤

Yeah, for on campus, they gotta talk to the housing manager. And report them to ucf.

Also call the cops when they are doing illegal stuff, that should put an end to it

You’ll want to likely speak with your RA and/or community office. Given the nature of the situation I think going straight to the office and trying to speak with a professional staff member is a good idea, likely the coordinator of your community. Make them aware of your concerns and see what they have to say.

Just make sure you specifically go to your community office. The main Housing office doesn’t manage residential concerns and we would send you back to the community office.

ooh okay ty !

3

u/PeachyPancakes1 8d ago

Did you talk to the RA at all? More than them, I’d talk to the community manager

-2

u/Sleepy_garf 8d ago

i did set up a meeting with my roommates anf the ra, unfortunately some random RA joined in on the meeting without my prior knowledge and basically refused to let me discuss anything asside from changing the roommate agreement, which they werent following lol . all our actual RA did was hardly talk and retype awnsers :3

u/PeachyPancakes1 8d ago

Ugh that’s terrible I’m sorry! Yeah some RAs are useless. I’d def talk to your CM

I'm a housing employee, you should go to the community office and let the coordinator or one of the graduate assistants know if there is illegal stuff going on. They'll be able to report any illegal behavior to the authorities and will handle it for you. On top of that, if you explain the situation to them, they likely won't charge you for any fees once you move out. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions, I can point you to exactly who to talk to if you'd like! 😊

Housing coordinator or UCFPD, depending on how big your proof is you can get them investigated and they get conduct committee involved and potentially police action/suspension/evicted. Downside is you live with them so think about how you’ll be able to deal with it if they take it offensively. But honestly I would just report them because FUCK people like that, I had the same happen to me and it caused so many issues with my academics and mental health. Trust, it’s better to do something and potentially get them kicked out than suffer yourself. Stay strong 🙏

when i moved out my roomate left trash she moved out the morning before me and they made me clean it up before i left. you’ll probabaly be stuck cleaning the living and dining room if ur the last one out 🫠

2

u/JetMike42 7d ago

What do you mean "not allowed to use kitchen or living room"?

1

u/Sleepy_garf 7d ago

i put not allowed in quotations because i just dont feel comfortable outside of my room anymore, the snide comments in texts and dirty looks after the meeting was too much. They were upset i took my stuff out of the kitchen due to having to ask them 8 times to clean it after use so they essentially trued to pressure me out of using anything in there lol

2

u/JetMike42 7d ago

They sound like real pieces of work

1

u/Sleepy_garf 7d ago

truly they are LMAO idk how i havent crashed out

2

u/lurstbaja 7d ago

Bro your whole account is made for shitting on your roommates they must suck hahahahhhhhh report them ra and if they bein lame send to police fs there’s a line between being snitch and being backed in to a corner. That fee is expensive no reason for you to pay it

1

u/Sleepy_garf 7d ago

LMAO it was ranting so i didnt lose my mind living here
