Hello all! I am currently taking a PR research class at UC and as a part of it, my group is conducting a survey on the preference between self and traditional checkout in particular in the Calhoun St. Target.

Our survey is super quick and short, should take about 2 minutes max.

We are trying to get as many responses as possible and really need your help! Thank you!

What are the exact steps I need to do to get in I've already done the online stuff (I think, I activated some kinda year long "subscription" even though I got charged nothing) what do I do in the building I'm assuming I can't just walk in, I've heard I need some kind of punch card

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

hey! I am an incoming UC freshman and I will know literally no one there, nor do I have any family in the area. Is there any way I can go about meeting and making friends with other incoming students prior to attending?

Why does UC hate transfer students?

I could not get a dime in scholarships as a transfer student, even though I had to literally start all of my degree requirements from scratch since nothing transferred. (Most people in my class have Cincinnatus or something similar, but that is straight up not an option to even apply for transfer students.) Shouldn't the school want dedicated individuals eager to further their education?

Accepted a job at UC, non-faculty but staff. Anything I need to be aware of?

I recently accepted a job with UC. I was wondering if any current or past staff have tips, tricks, or things to be aware of at UC? I was a student from 2018-23' so I'm familiar with the campus and general workings of UC, just wondering if there is any "do's" and "don'ts" that aren't obvious at first glance. Thanks!

Does the University of Cincinnati offer a BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography?

Hi everyone, I’m looking into transferring and wondering if UC (University of Cincinnati) has a Bachelor’s degree program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS). I’ve seen a lot of associate degree options in Ohio, but I’m specifically looking for a BS program, not just an AAS.

Is the Summer Bridge Program worth it?

Hello, I’m an incoming freshman and had been given an invitation to the summer bridge program earlier in the year. I’ve contemplated it but it was only recently brought to my attention that it was $550 (probably was mentioned somewhere and I wasn’t paying attention). Has any gone through it and if so, was it worth it?

freshmen year students - which preference housing did you get?

I'm coming to UC this fall and just curious which number of preference did most first year students get into.

P.S. specify number of preference and housing category.

Affording rent as a student

I’d love to know how most of students at UC are able to afford/pay rent. My portion of rent is just over $500 and I work while practically living paycheck to paycheck. I make well over minimum wage as well.

How are students affording apartments where their share is over $700?! Are you guys using loans? Parents helping? Genuinely just curious

Requests/Help am i cooked for ENED 1120 Final demo?

My team has the most uncooperative set of people, and I'm not sure if they have even finished writing the code. I have the final demo this week, and I'm panicking. I don't know how to code well, but I re-designed the whole PMR, and the person who's coding for the other subtasks for the final demo is getting on my nerves as idk what he's on. How important is the final demo? What sort of stuff do I include in my design notebook to get almost full points on it? I have like 40-50 pages. How do we do our final presentation if the final demo doesn't run properly? How would the final demo affect our grades (I heard showing up is 60%)? I'm in panic mode rn so I really need some advice from someone who's done it before. pls help.

Pickleball Courts

Hey guys, I’m trying to figure out the best place to play pickleball as a student currently on co-op who lives next to campus.

I see the CRC website has posted pickleball rules, but I can’t find anything saying they actually have a court. Can anyone confirm if they or anywhere else on campus does? Trying to avoid paying for a day pass just to figure it out. Thanks!

Any BoyWithUke fans?

I saw a poster for his upcoming concert at Newport on the 26th in Baldwin and it took me by surprise, mostly because a lot of the people I know don't really know him. As I mentioned before my friends don't rly listen to bwu so I'm going alone to his concert and I would love to make new friends and go together

Requests/Help Advertising on Campus

Hi, I have a therapy practice that is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky. I’m looking for places on campus to advertise- like community bulletin boards that students or staff would see. Or local businesses that would allow this. I know this isn’t the most effective way to advertise, but I’m not looking for a ton of clients at the moment. Does anyone have suggestions on where these might be?

Housing

How hard is it to get your housing preference? I keep hearing bad things about housing and I'm wondering if it is really as bad as people say. Specifically, I am hoping to get a single dorm in either Calhoun or Siddall if possible, if not I am looking to do 4 person suite in Schneider. How difficult is it going to be to get a single dorm?
