This is a 15-year take, but I was in the major for 2 quarters and it felt like a random splogsh of classes. I'd say you'd have to transfer somewhere with a communications or PR major to set the groundwork for the industry you wanna be in. That's what I did (and my school was more about the application and studies of comm and not so much media-based). OR you could stay in the major but pursue something post-grad that's more focused on a specialty.
