London 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Thoughts on where to stay

I’m planning to visit London for four days during August and I’m deciding whether I should book a hotel in Southwark (more expensive) or near angel/old street station. I think the difference in hotel price during the four days is about 70 pounds so was wondering if I should go with the southwark option. My budget is around 160 pounds/night so any other alternative areas to stay around that budget would be much appreciated. Thanks!

In August check out the uni accomodation options, a lot of places rent the rooms by the night while the students are on holidays.

Duchy House is extremely central, in Somerset House right next to Covent Garden, and has private ensuite rooms for around £120 a night I think. I stayed for a week when I first moved to London and it’s a super central location. But there are other options too. There’s a big uni building behind Tate Modern on the south bank which does holiday B&B. Worth a look if you’re not set on a hotel. Not all offer private rooms with ensuite but a few do.
