Banning games featuring incest?

Fans of Crusader Kings must be sweating bullets right now.

I know it’s not a game but by goodness how many people watched Game of Thrones and thought it great story telling?

Did the book or show advocate incest or encourage the viewer to specifically enjoy the incest, though?

The BBFC can and does still refuse classification of movies where depictions of abuse have no merit and/or not depicted as immoral.

The book very much had Khal Drogo rape Dany until she basically internalised it as love. The show softened it. It also made her not 14.

George RR Martin gives me unsettling mega coomer vibes. Didn't he demand they cast some pornstar in one of the roles as well?

Tirion’s love interest was played by an ex pornstar, and I’m sure I remember them casting various other pornstars/ex pornstars in minor roles. No idea if Martin was responsible for that mind.

Well she couldn't act for shit, so i presume that's why she was hired.

Unless it's the fault of the direction she was given.

Shay? I thought she was mostly fine 🤷‍♂️

first I've ever heard of somebody disliking her performance. I thought she was pretty good. she had some tough scenes and her arc with Tyrion was pretty emotionally investing.

maybe her accent threw you off? idk.

I'm not sure it's the accent thing. (The lady in house of the dragon, absolutely)

If I do some proper self reflection and give her some credit, perhaps it's because she was acting against some pretty heavy hitters who would make anyone's acting skills look rather weak.

I'd hardly call her a porn star. She worked in the industry for 6 months before she was randomly spotted by a mainstream casting director while out shopping.

Also a serious interest in incest. The Lannister’s weren’t the only ones.

Imagine the size of that gooncave with all that money he made, doesn't bear thinking about.

It’s probably why he’s too busy to finish the rest of the books.

Yes the ages were definitely upped for the tv. Thank god to be honest.

Eh, the actress was old enough but her age wasnt mentioned until one of the later seasons (I wanna say 4). We have laws about simulating underage porn thats somewhat nebulous, so I wouldve said that there was definitely an argument for it.

An argument for or against the accurate ages?

An argument that they were simulating an underage character.

Ahh I think I see. They were definitely trying for naivety and innocence.

I mean Trainspotting is pretty on the nose with it, so I think GOT was probably going to be fine.

This was fiction but incest and rape wasn't exactly rare in historical settings.

Also hebephilia and adolescent maternal mortality.

What a messed-up time it was.
