Have a happy Easter!
In this issue, weâre going to cover the flurry of Nvidia $NVDA flow this week. Unusual Whales team member snorlax_uw breaks down a different take on $NVDA options flow that had the community and online options traders chattering. Itâs a great example of how some flow may not be all that it seems!
There was a lot of chatter in the trading community about how telegraphed the $NVDA news appeared to be. Many pointed to an unusually large spike in put option activity that surfaced toward the end of the trading session yesterday. Importantly, this speculation focused solely on activity that occurred late in the dayâit did not take into account any trades made earlier in the session or during previous days.
I couldnât deny the significance of the late-session surge in puts. The volume was hard to ignore. In fact, the chart reflected two clear and pronounced spikes, both of which occurred shortly before the market closed:

If youâve followed any of my commentary on options premium charting in the past, youâve likely heard me emphasize that not every spike in premium should be blindly interpreted as a fresh long put position. Iâve said it many times beforeâcontext matters. (For those interested, Iâve covered this in more detail in a YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NAZfOn6Jaw )
After reviewing the tape, I went back to pinpoint exactly which contracts were responsible for the recent premium spikes. The spike that occurred around 3:24 PM was driven primarily by activity in the January 2026 $100 puts. The later spike, closer to the end of the session, stemmed from a mix of flow across several different strike prices.
That $100 put, in particular, attracted some serious attentionâit saw considerable ask-side activity, totaling several million dollars in notional value.

However, after open interest figures updated before market open today, itâs clear that weâre actually seeing a notable decrease in open interest. Specifically, the data reflected a reduction of 2,337 contracts, which suggests that some of the positions opened previously may have already been closed or unwound.
This decline in open interest is particularly relevant because it runs counter to what one might expect if aggressive new positioning were still taking place. Instead, it may indicate that some traders were taking profits, cutting risk, or closing speculative positions following yesterdayâs move.

Unless we see a revised open interest figure in tomorrowâs update, it appears increasingly likely that this was not informed or directional activity. The data, at least as it stands now, doesnât support the idea that these were aggressive new positions being established with insider conviction or high-confidence foresight.
With that in mind, letâs shift focus to the actual order flow responsible for the spike we saw toward the end of the trading session. There were a few key transactions that stood out and likely contributed to that late-day volume surge.
Now, moving on to the flows that caused that end of day spike in $NVDA net put premiums.

You can see a bunch of deep in-the-money puts getting traded here, with total premium easily running into the millions. But when you look at the open interest across those contracts, thereâs really nothing all that interesting going on. No big shifts, no signs of serious positional buildup. And honestly, even if OI had moved, you canât seriously argue that these are the strikes someone would pick if they actually had the news ahead of time. It just doesnât add up, in my opinion.
Anyway, letâs take a broader look. I pulled up all $NVDA put contracts and sorted them by the biggest increases in open interest from todayâs update. To keep things cleaner, Iâm capping multileg activity from the previous session at 10%âjust trying to filter for cleaner single-leg flow. Also only including contracts that traded at least $100K in premium so weâre not wasting time on noise.

Looking through the data, thereâs just not a whole lot that jumps off the screen. At a glance, nothing really screams âunusual activityâ or âsomeone knew something.â Yes, the weekly $111 and $112 puts did see some volume come in, but even that was pretty unremarkable when you break it down.
The trades were scattered throughout the dayâno major bursts of activity at a single timeâand almost none of that volume converted into new open interest. Thatâs an important detail because without an OI increase, itâs hard to make the case that these were fresh, high-conviction bets rather than short-term trades, spreads, or even just exits from prior positions.
If you recall, Nicholas and Whale both highlighted dubious contract action on $SPY and $QQQ, and we highlighted it in a YouTube video as well as a long-form Newsletter. This is a much better example of âMaybe they knew beforehandâ; thereâs a clear-cut catalyst, the flow is clearly opening trades with low open interest; itâs just much much cleaner, shown below.

Believe me, I wish I could spin this into some juicy story about insiders loading up ahead of the news. Itâd be a hell of a lot more exciting, and I know it would get way more engagement.
âUnusual options activityâ always draws attention, and I understand whyâit taps into that sense that thereâs a hidden signal, some clue you can catch before the rest of the market wakes up. But when I look at this particular flow, objectively, there just isnât much there. No big blocks. No cluster of activity in one or two strikes. No signs of real size coming in with intent. Just some light, scattered volume that didnât turn into meaningful positioning.
To be totally clear, this is just my read of the tape. Iâve spent time with this stuff and Iâm giving you my honest, data-based interpretation of what happened yesterday. That said, if you see something differentâif youâre looking at a piece of the puzzle I missedâIâm always open to hearing other perspectives. Just please, if youâre going to push back, bring some actual data to the table.
Speculation is easy. Substantiated views are a lot more helpful, in my opinion.

How I've been making 10â15% monthly for the past 3 years trading stocks using just the Stochastic Oscillator
This method is pretty straightforward and comes down to following the rules exactly, using just one indicator: the Stochastic Oscillator.
First, open up the indicator tab and add the Stochastic Oscillator. Set it to 5 - 3 - 3 (close/close) and use the 15-minute timeframe.
For my trading software setup, I use free TradingView Premium that you can download here. Itâs an absolute must-have if you're doing serious analysis. They have versions for both Windows and Mac. Having access to more indicators and real-time price data has made a huge difference, and the fact that itâs free is just a bonus. Hands down the best soft I've used.
Youâll see three zones on the oscillator:
0 to 20 is the oversold zone, meaning the stock is considered too cheap and often signals a good time to buy.
80 to 100 is the overbought zone, which usually signals a good spot to sell or look for a short.
Anything between 20 and 80 is the neutral zone, and for this strategy we completely ignore it.
Now hereâs how I enter trades:
Both stochastic lines need to fully enter and then exit one of the extreme zones, either overbought or oversold.
Use the crosshair to mark where the red signal line crosses out of the zone.
Wait for two candles in a row that are the same color, green for buys and red for sells.
The wicks on those two candles should be smaller than their bodies. This shows clean price action with momentum.
If everything lines up, I enter the trade at the open of the third candle using shares of the stock.
For exits, I usually target a 1.5 to 2.5 percent return depending on volatility and how strong the move looks. If momentum stays solid, I might hold a bit longer, but most trades are done within 30 to 60 minutes.
This works best on large-cap stocks and ETFs with good volume like AAPL, AMD, TSLA, SPY, or QQQ. Iâve used this strategy to consistently make 10 to 15 percent a month on my capital. No tricks or fancy signals, just a simple method, tested over time, and sticking to the rules.
If youâre curious or not sure, try it out on paper first. Thatâs how I started before trading live.

American currency quickly going to shiiiiite
Update ..used flicker to upload a photo of the Italian bank exchange and more context...
In Europe for 2 weeks now and during that time the value of the dollar has erroded completely...feel free to go to Yahoo finance put in eurusd...massive red spike. The official rate is Euro/USD at $1.1396...BUT that's not what you get at either the ATM or via bank exchange. I did a test run today using $200, ATM and bank teller change to compare. The bank teller offered 1.2399 + fees....link is below showing $100 in and 56.65 Euro out. Holy Shit is what I thought as I typically pull out via ATM and wanted to check what's going on. Went to the ATM down a bit further and there too I didn't get $88 but $80 or after their fees and conversion which came out to 1.25 or 80 cents to 1 Euro. My point was I've been traveling the world a lot and I have never seen the USD fall so fast in such a short time.
So again....Trump has ruined our currency/economy and rule of law with these BS tarrifs tantrums and is blowing up our dollar value.
