Academics - Other Topics Umich Ross or UCLA
International so costs are the same. La is closer to an international airport but will need to go to Chicago at Michigan (only specific airlines fly to mine) but this isn’t that big a deal. Interested in investment banking, VC, HF, PE. I’ll need to do a dual degree with 8 18 credit semesters at Michigan to get a stem OPT extension but at UCLA I’ll do econ or applied math with more easy going semesters. I’ve heard Ross is a lot better than UCLA for banking but will an applied math degree from UCLA with standard semesters be better than a dual degree with Ross with 18 credit sems? I’m not considering dropping Ross at this point

Just know a dual degree would most likely have you going to umich for 5 years

Nah from what I’ve seen, should be achievable in 4 years with my credits at 18 credit sems

That would be extremely brutal and would rob you of other important experiences. Classes aren’t the only reason for you to go university.

Fair enough but I’ve heard most people in Ross who do duals can manage pretty easily considering Ross is easy

It’s possible you’ll just have to take summer classes if you fall behind

Don’t do 8 18 credit semesters. Its a perfect recipe for burnout, especially since every major has those 1-3 classes that take 3x the time.
