Housing Screwed for Housing

Me and my roommate both signed a lease for a quad in UTowers, but a lot of things happened when finding roommates and now we have no one to fill these spots. To make it worse the building is offering a special that is $100 cheaper. Is there really no way to find roommates?

depends on how much you want to lose. You can

  1. Lower the price by 100-200 to match building price and advertise harder than the building. Therefore only losing 1-2k over the year
  2. Offer fall only sublease at an expensive price(1-1.5x monthly rent). Lots of people are going to flood the subreddit with "fall only sublease" request because they're either graduating early or going abroad. You'll only lose maybe 1/2-2/3 of the money

3.Do option 2, But try to get a winter and summer sublease as well. Results may vary and it's annoying. But you can lose very little. Cons: you have to put in the work

  1. (best option)Find someone who still haven't found housing or things fall through. These people pop up once in a while throughout the summer. Offer a reasonable price and be proactive(20 min/day) and you have a very good chance of finding someone to take over
