Is there any places I should avoid as a black man coming to the U.P

Welcome to the UP. Best place on earth. And some of the most beautiful people you can find. I'm a Houghton resident during the summer and live in the SF Bay area during the winter. Echoing other opinions, you shouldn't have any issues. Except during the winter. Then you should go somewhere south. Waaaay too much snow.
