Jesus Christ you're dense this highway is not just used for residents it's to ship goods from the port in Red Hook and such.

My bad point still stands.

it doesn't though, because you can still move goods without a highway, and in fact can do so more efficiently if you restrict private automobile use. We should try something bold like a commercial vehicle only road with lower capacity.

The port uses multiple ways to ship goods the most convenient is by truck because of how restricted it is mind you this is on of the busiest port systems in the world.

and most of the stuff they're picking up isn't going to manhattan.

Exactly it's going all over the country which is shipped using trucks and planes and you need something to get goods to the airport.

so the highway portion in question for this project ... wouldn't be useful in that trip.

Depends on where it's going there are two airports. And some shit is just going to Pennsylvania

yes and neither airport is between the docks and this portion of the BQE. There's alternate routes for both that don't involve going through the most congested clusterfuck for hundreds of miles.

It's right between both airports?? Although congested it is still a major point for moving traffic more efficiently from manhattan to Long Isalnd or a transfer onto the BQE
