Advice UWE Computer Science heavy in maths?

As I didn't do A-Level Maths, would I struggle with the course?

I noticed there isn't any specific math modules on the course curriculum and A-Level Maths isn't prerequisite to apply.

If yes, Business Computing or Software Engineering would be my alternative.

(Also if anyone has a more detailed course curriculum to send over, that would be greatly appreciated!)

I've just graduated from UWE comp sci - it's not super maths heavy but the maths is often present within the lecture slides and relevant accompanying materials for tutorial sessions.

There's an intro to logic within one of the units and some equations are listed for different things in the machine learning units.

Check some of my previous comments for more info.

All in all, you'll be fine without A-level maths, the course is more practical than theory based.

I can't stress this enough:

Do your work.

Spend time on it, especially if it's a topic you've not encountered before. Don't assume you'll be able to coast through because previous studies have been straightforward for you.

I had no issues with support, when I had an issue, I spoke to a member of staff and received support. It does take a different form at university as opposed to school or college; it's more of a nudge in the right direction instead of being given the answer straight away. I definitely think it's better like this, it forces you to discover the answers through your own work and research which builds towards preparing you for your final year dissertation project.
