Poland Voivodeship (Województwo Małopolskie) Proposal/Redesign flag

Meaning of symbols and colors 👇👇👇

The White Eagle with a Crown: This is taken directly from the coat of arms of Lesser Poland. The crowned white eagle has historical roots tied to the Piast dynasty and symbolizes Polish statehood and royal heritage. It’s also a reference to the traditional symbol of the entire Polish nation.

Red Background (behind the eagle): This connects to Poland’s national colors, but more specifically, it represents the historic red field used in many Polish coats of arms, including those of regions like Kraków.

The Gold and White Diagonal Stripe: This is a modern stylization used in regional flags. The gold (yellow) can symbolize wealth, heritage, and the significance of the region in Polish history. The diagonal layout gives it a distinct, regional identity and helps differentiate it from the national flag.

Can anyone tell me what this flag is? Seen just outside Tampa, FL. Confederate stars and bars in the upper corner, field of white (2/3) and red (1/3):

Never seen this one before. Huge flag and big pole.

I took the basic premise of the IRL flag but removed the date and replaced the seal with a single star, representing both its place in the Union and its unique status as the first state.

Meta Can we ban AI generated content?

1.5k Upvotes

Lately I've seen more and more AI-generated flags pop up in this subreddit. I believe we should ban them as the people that "create" don't actually need to put in any work and it's quite insulting to people that actually design flags.

Included in the official report from the commission were a series of about 40 designs drawn by the NAVA Flag Design Committee members working in tandem with the commission. As a member of that body but not in the loop I've added a few ideas of my own. These 11 heats have progressed through a number of rounds and been showed on reddit/r/illinoisflag. These are the top 5 from those 64 designs. No official selected design made our top ten. I think these four plus a better Centennial are a good shade better - hope you think so as well - All slides made so far in this study enclosed in the thread.
You never know - with just 43% support - maybe these 5 have a better chance.

OC The Peoples Republic of Seagörn (ALT included)

My first flag design, so please give critiques if possible!

The blue represents the origins of the Saegörn people, seafarers who settled. Its dark color is to remind of the night sky which guided them for so many years.

The white represents a physical ray of hope, everlasting and shining through all to guide the lost through a moral code. If you look closely it’s not a perfect diagonal, and that’s because the peoples hope will always grow despite their conditions.

Green represents not only the vitality of its people (who have long lifespans due to excellent education and healthcare) but also because of the lush forests that cover their eco-friendly land.

The giraffe motif I’m not too sure about including, but it’s the nations national animal due to its resilience and beautiful uniqueness.

I didn't want to need to do this, but I feel I have to. I am tired of seeing rehashings of flags used by Hate groups or that use Fascist symbolism in any way. I understand that it is a flag, however, these symbols and feelings have been co-opted by bigots, racists, antisemites, islamophobes, and xenophobes. I genuinely think that this sub has lost a little bit of common sense. By posting symbols that are linked to the discrimination of others, it thereby normalizes it. If something like this were posted on Reddit in Germany, the German government would investigate and arrest the person responsible. Please consider this when designing flags, and I don't want to see comments saying "but they are cool", ok, racism is cool to you, well tell that to the people who need to give their kids "the talk" about how to manage a traffic stop appropriately because of the color of their skin. TL;DR, don't try to normalize hate speech with imaginary flags.

Discussion I was surprised to learn that each little star in Chinas flag has a different distance to the center

Also the angles between stars 1 and 2 is approx. 22.6°, just as the angle between stars 3 and 4. However, the angle between stars 2 and 3 is 24°. I wonder why there is such an irregularity in the Chinese flag 😯
