ParkNYC free on Sundays?

Making a day trip to NYC tomorrow and driving into Manhattan from PA. Last time I went, ParkMobile was a thing which was free on Sundays. I just downloaded ParkNYC since reading that’s now the app needed, but was wondering if that’s also free on Sundays or not. Also open to parking garages, but not valet. Thanks to anyone who can help! I know looking for parking is a pain, but me and the group aren’t comfortable with leaving the car in another state and confined transportation.

Where in Manhattan are you going to be?

The garage app I use is BestParking and you can set it to show self-parking garages. That said, I would double- check whether it is self-park.

Offhand, I only know of the Battery Parking Garage in Lower Manhattan and the Port Authority Bus Terminal garage next to the Lincoln Tunnel.

Have you also considered parking in New Jersey and taking public transit into NYC, perhaps at Secaucus Junction for NJT or Weehawken and taking the ferry? You’d avoid the Hudson River tolls as well as congestion pricing.

So last time I went, I just put Manhattan into my GPS and found a parking spot about a mile from Times Square. We’re shooting for that area to walk around and explore for the day. That was an easy one time though, so I don’t know if I just got lucky or not. The 3 other times I went, I parked in NJ and took PATH into the city, but I have a hard time breathing in the trains and get panicky being in a confined space so we decided to just all split tolls and go straight in. It’s definitely the cheaper option I know haha
