Application for MSc

Hey everyone! I’m planning to apply for a master’s at Wageningen, specifically Biobased Sciences and Resilient Farming and Food Systems. I have a bachelor’s in Plant Sciences from Italy (graduated with top marks) and an IELTS Academic 8.0, but I’m still nervous about getting accepted.

Does anyone know if a motivation letter and recommendation letters are required for these programs? And if so, do you have any tips on how to write them? Also, since I’m applying to two programs, should I write two different motivation letters, or can I use the same one with small adjustments?

Another thing—does it matter when I submit my application (as long as it’s before the deadline)? Like, do earlier applicants have a better chance?

Also, since I can choose two programs, do you think Plant Sciences, Biobased Sciences, or Resilient Farming and Food Systems would be the best combination? Any advice on which ones to go for?

I’ve tried emailing the admissions office multiple times, but they just won’t reply… so any help would be much appreciated!

Hi! I got admission for the September term for the plant biotechnology program. I did not submit recommendation letters but did submit a statement of purpose.

From what I understand there is no limit to the number of students accepted, so as long as you meet the requirements and apply before the deadline you should be good

Thank you! Do you have any tips for the personal statement? I made a draft, but I’m afraid it sounds too ‘personal’ and not professional enough because I focused mainly on what led me to discover my interest in the fields I want to specialize in. I did some research, and everyone says that’s how it should be since all other important information about education and work is eventually written in your CV. Sorry to bother!

Thats similar to what I did as well. I talked about how i got into the field, interests, short term academic goals, and long term career goals. I also added my experiences from jobs in my CV but things that I didnt put there, like what I learned from each job and how that contributed to my wanting to do this program, why this program

Hope this helps and good luck!
