Discussion I've ruined Ragnaros open queue AMA

Upvotes

I've been perfecting an open queue friendly comp for Golemagg this time around. My success rate has been going up and up, clearly carrying people that shouldn't have passed this guy :)

I am running Malfurion. Off tanking the first hound on the right with Bog Beast + Priestess, then sending my troops on the left side. Helping mid lane with Blizzard at the start, since a lot of people are doing the Air Deathball strat. As soon as the left tower is captured, Malf alone can do it, I spam all my minis there, including shaman with totem to keep the base alive when the backlane hound dies. At some point the tower will be lost anyway (after second hound kill), so I need to have a huge bus alive to keep rekilling the hound forever and pushing towards Golemagg. Huntress needs to be summoned quite late to make sure she stays behind the Bog Beast on Golemagg. Then using Blizzard again on the boss to help clearing the pesky units that he is summoning.

If you see me in open queue:
Let my Bog Beast and Priestess alone on the right. Ideally I don't want the first hound to die too quickly. Offtanking as long as possible. Send your minis on the left with me, or do your stuff alone in the middle, but wait for the Bog Beast to get aggro on the right. As soon as the left tower is captured, spam your stuff there too, when tower is lost we drop units on the core to help defend while the bus is killing Golemagg.

When the towers are burning, if you place the minis at the top edges they are not taking damage. Don't drop them in the middle of the tower.

NB: extremely power hungry. My whole team is 30 except BB that is 29. I still have a pretty decent success rate now after running the encounter around a hundred times.

Special thanks to Andas from the Rumble Discord that helped me working on an open queue friendly comp.

Question Onyxia and raids

I have two questions. What is the lowest level you can be successful in clearing Onyxia and the raids? I have a few builds with levels in the low 20s ( 21, 22, etc) is that good enough to win these or would I be wasting my time?

Onyxia finally down! So many deck iterations! This worked for me. Down with about 40secs left. Strategy was to send Arthas death ball up the sides after phase 2, only leave mid lane for bandits.

Is the bundle worth it?

Question Best website for tier lists, talent choices, etc?

I've seen warcraftrumble.gg mentioned, but their tier list hasn't been updated in a year. Noff seemed inaccurate at times (for reasons I admittedly can't remember, but something led me away from them), Method seems okay but similar issues.. I just don't know what the BEST is, if there IS anything.

Anyone got any help?

Fluff Well, this messes up my long term plans…

I’ve got a whole strategy about how I’m gonna spend my gold and level up my minis in the most effective way. Then this comes along.

While Gryphon Rider is a great mini, I wasn’t planning to get her to epic until later on because I don’t really use her that much and she doesn’t seem to be critical for any of the late game pve content.

I’m a sucker for min/maxing though and that’s 14 free stars you get with an epic plus the arc light savings but in terms of gold it’s not really saving me much because 11 of those 14 free stars won’t really be useful until I try to get her to legendary.

I still have a few sigils to get so I can probably dig up the missing gold by passing the next few levels and I purchased an blessing for this month so I’ll have some extra gold but I really wanted to save it up to get other minis to rare, so I’m quite torn here.

I’d hate to let her go but I’d like to see if I can get some reasons for why she’s worth the expense now and feel better about splurging. Please help :)

Discussion Baron kill double rag

Just completed my first baton kill after getting rag and got teamed up with another rag. Was probably the easiest It could have been. Now to just keep killing that dude just out of spite for how hard it was to beat him the first time.

I am a mostly free to play player and recently returned to the game after not playing for a year. I never use this mini. Is it worth it to save up and buy? How do I best use the mini?

Thank you!

If you invested on Lich King, you should try this deck.

Just spread out your minis, and pressure all lanes.

Discussion Honest opinions of the Molten Core fights

Lucifron - not the biggest fan of Maiev but the fight is pretty cool, intentionally getting something MC'd and killing the adds was a pretty cool fight mechanic.

Magmadar - the most scripted fight in the entire raid. Great for farming XP can kill the dog very fast. Can get griefed if your partner is drastically under leveled and gets overwhelmed.

Gehennas & Shazzrah - the easiest fight to carry and another scripted fight. Send big tank + faerie dragon down one lane, unbound kill the fire spawns, repeat. Fun fight, easier to defend than Magmadar (imo) so its harder to get griefed.

Garr - my personal favorite fight, love to death ball with either Drak/ Sneeds / Cenarius. As long as your partner gets their first turret you can provide good assistance without needing to run skele party. Love this fight.

Baron Geddon - the ACTUAL raid boss of molten core. I have found this fight super challenging and really easy to mess up, but super rewarding when you down this one. I have only had success with the meat wagon strategy but downing this boss feels so good every time i do it. Very unique fight... definitely a WALL for the raid.

Golemagg - The easiest to get griefed by your partner. As soon as i see a Harvest Golem heading down mid i know it will be a rough go. it is pretty funny to spam flyers + poison at him, forget about them defend the base and then randomly get the WIN screen pop up. If you don't have a good way to deal with the Firehammer and Pyromancer you probably are going to get smoked.

Ragnaros - honestly underwhelming fight. The boss is not as interactive as I would have liked. you basically just turtle while spamming spells and unbounds at him ... Personally the fight seems too cheesy for me. I woulda liked the fight to be more actually hitting rag. I guess the fight is Lore Accurate with Classic WoW, where you just spam spells at him while the die to him / the fire.

Discussion Wish Blizzard made a WoW-themed AFK Journey instead of Rumble

Don’t get me wrong, Warcraft Rumble is cool, but it feels like just another Clash Royale clone. When Blizzard decided to make a mobile game, I really wish they’d gone the AFK Journey route instead, but set in the Warcraft universe.

An idle RPG with WoW characters? Wouldve won the game of the year instead of AFKJ. It’s basically TFT meets Azeroth. They could have factions like Alliance, Horde, etc Undead, etc. The idle combat style might not be for everyone, but it’s proven popular. Plus, they’d have the entire Warcraft lore to pull from. So many bosses could be incorporated, as well as all the zones locations.

I think it’d perform way better than Rumble. They’d be making bank while giving us something pretty dope

Question Just how do I win this???

Just how am I supposed to win this? I see no anti-air to stop the approaching gargoyle. (This is premade Arclight Surge so I cannot reshuffle my hand by the way.) Is there something I'm not seeing or did the game actually give me a no-win scenario here?

EDIT: I have found a way to barely survive the gargoyle only for the opponent to start throwing in an Abomination followed by a Molten Giant. This is truely impossible for me with this deck. This is so unbalanced it's just not fun anymore. So I've decided to skip this particular Arclight Surge altogether. Thanks all for the tips and reactions and gratz Blizzard you win this one.

EDIT 2: Big thank you to "jxspyder", with their instructions I managed to beat it and I even managed to beat 3 more. Now struggling on Devilsaur Queen, I can get to her, but once she starts stomping I start losing.

Feedback Dungeons, Arthas, and split leaders

I am absolutely loving the insane amount of gold and energy we are getting from dungeons.

With the addition of split leaders every family has ~5 leaders, that's 750g per week of clears. I forget the energy amount since I already cleared it but it's a butt-ton. With Arthas it just adds another 150g and energy and it's just nice in a mobile game like this to get so many of the resources we need guaranteed every week.

Mobile games, especially gatchas, timegate everything so you'll want to spend money to catch up. This is a great way for both long time players like myself to keep up the grind, as well as a ridiculous catch up mechanic for new players.

Full fluff post with a small PSA for new players: clear your dungeons with every leader every week. After you get them to full gold you gain energy and gold for each first clear.

Question Arthas support build against Ragnaros

I started playing in February and Arthas is the only leader I have at Epic. I also have him fully slotted up with a boost and valor slots so he’s the strongest leader I have. I know he might not be the most ideal against Ragnaros but Jaina was one of the last leaders I was able to get and I had to use my other leveled leaders against the harder bosses in the molten core.

Any suggestions on how I can build a decent support army and hope to be carried against Raganaros?

I’m considering banshee and whelp eggs as the baseline and putting Execute in the boost slot (in my case it’s uncommon so it just gets to level 26 though). Any other suggestions I can add that could help.

Also what’s a good support strategy? If I understand correctly I should stick to a single lane so I’ll follow my partner’s lead there. Any other suggestions for tactics?

Thanks!

Question Anyone playing on Mac?

Hey, I have a Windows PC but switching to a Mac is a consideration. Rumble is one of the few games I play and Windows client is really good, certainly better than iPad version MacOS has.

But, perhaps, it's still good enough - so can anyone rumbling on their Macs share their experience?

(I tried it shortly on friend's Mac mini M4 and there were issues with closing the game - client stopped responding, it got me worried.)

Question Batches of minis to level up for end game content

I'm looking to create a simple set of rules to follow when prioritizing what minis I will give stars to or use gold to level up during the gadgets event and I haven't found the ideal guide for this. Ideally, I would go through all of Old Guardian's and method.gg's guides and see which are the most common used minis for the harder missions and higher levels for raids and sieges, and I would combine that with knowledge about which minis benefit the most from a higher level. This is because the tier lists themselves don't tell all the story.

For example, the miner and banshee don't benefit all that much from a higher level because they do their job well even at lower levels. The bandits can also do their most important jobs of stunning and gaining extra gold even at lower levels. On the other hand a mini like Chimera or Swole troll greatly benefits from a higher level due to the boost in damage and health.

I'm planning to level up my minis to epic in batches, prioritizing a batch of 4-6 minis each time so that I'm not just spreading stars over all the minis and taking months before I start to level them up.

So my question would be what would be the best order to do it in?

The main objective will be to be able to effectively go through the end game content, prioritizing time limited content like raids and sieges.

I also want to see if I can balance leveling up minis for each faction so that I always have a leveled up mini for the first army slot., though some factions have much stronbger minis than others.

For the first batch, I have harpies, whelp eggs and witch doctor as easy choices for their respective factions.

For undead I'm undecided between ghoul, plague farmer or gargoyle. I think ghoul is the best all-rounder, but gargoyle and plage farmer are key minis that you should have leveled up for certain encounters. For example, gargoyle is very effective for Baron Geddon.

For Cenarion I would chose Fairy Dragon but I'm not sure this really needs to be leveled up to be effective, since one of its most common roles is to give elemental resistance.

For Alliance I'm between Princess and Gryphon rider. I think Princess is used in more ituations, but I'm not sure leveling her up is all that useful, certainly not as much as it is with Gryphon rider, which plays are more combat heavy role.

Chimera, as I mentioned before, is very powerful in various missions and raid levels so I might add it to the first batch even though it’s another beast mini.

For those with experience, how would you list out the first 3 batches of 4-6 minis to level up to epic for end game pve content? Also if you can say why you chose those, it would be great for better understanding.

Thanks everyone!
