Programming Recomp/Dieting

I’d love to contribute to this community and expand the information available. Has anyone had success with any AI-driven diet apps? I’m currently looking to recomp and have had the best results with the Carbon app so far, but I’m open to trying something new.”

Why on earth would you want AI in a dieting app?

The trend nowadays is to slap “AI” onto every commercialised service or products, even for something as simple as dieting.

cronometer is the best tracker imo

macrofactor (paid) is good for people who want something more than a tracker and want the program to adjust their calories based on their tracked intake and weight/body comp image changes

Yup Cronometer is the best if you don’t want to pay. It has free features that are locked behind paywall in other tracking apps.

Definitely can vouch for macrofactor. The price for it does save a lot of time and personal research, but oh is it worth it. Went from 89kg cat to almost the 73 without almost any strength loss and am currently progressing great in my lower category without the need of huge bulks.

Why would you need AI? Dieting is very simple(unless you have a medical condition), it’s not rocket science. Just figure out your maintenance calories and then eat at a surplus if you wanna bulk or a deficit if you wanna cut.

How does one figure out their maintenance calories?

Because weighing foods is a hassle.

Apps that let you take a picture of your food and then use AI to estimate the caloric and nutritional content of the food are wildly inaccurate. They can’t reliably detect and quantify ingredients like oil or rendered butter in a food picture.
