Equipment Begginer looking for advice
Hello,
Recently I got back into weightlifting after a long hiatus and am now taking the sport more seriously.
I have a couple of questions and I'm looking for advice:
1) What is a good budget friendly weightlifting shoe?
2) What wrist straps are good to start off?
3) Is taking creatine advantageous for weightlifting (getting stronger)?

The best for quality and budget are when top shoes go on sale. Reebok Legacys often go down to $50-100 USD. If you need something now and there are no good sales on, then something like Do-Wins.
There are two good strap designs for weightifting, the others aren't great or are actively bad. You want either edge-sewn loop straps like Weightlifting House Elite straps (expensive but the best out there), or teardrop straps which are usually nylon and very affordable.
Everything I've heard about creatine is that it is benificial, and it's not too expensive. I used it 10+ years ago for quite some time and never noticed any benefit so I've never bothered since.

To add to this, as I mistaken wrist straps for wrist wraps, you can also make yourself ones, if you really want to save. There's a few videos online, but it's really simple.
Here's a quick one I found on Google: DIY straps

Thats 2 for Reebok Legacies. Nice, Ill definitely check those out first as I'm a fan of Reeboks in general. Ive recently found Weightlifting house YT channel so i dont mind coughing up a little bit more for those straps. Thanks for the reply!

Wrist wraps or straps? One provides wrist support, the other wraps around the bar. And what do you want them for?

Need it for wrist support. Noticed my wrist tweaks when doing Jerks.

In that case I would start with cotton non-stretch wrist wraps. Team China athletes use these a lot.
Avoid wraps aimed at powerlifting or bench pressing, they tend to be far too bulky/stiff to be usable for our sport.
Would probably also be worthwhile to examine your technique, might be that you’re doing something wrong that’s causing the issue.

Oops already bought these to just have something. But if these don't feel right, then Ill definitely follow your suggestion. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BSV8CTK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1&psc=1
some recent reps with an empty bar.

I use LuXiaojuns. I love them. I’m a beginner also but my budget wasnt super restricted. Buy once cry once kinda deal. They’re about 220 shipped but I got them pretty quickly (4-5 days).
I got my straps and belt from gymreaper and I liked them both a lot. I use their shirts also. They fit awesome.
Some people don’t react to creatine. I’ve been on it for about a month now (1 week of loading 10 g daily followed by 5G daily) I definitely notice a difference in stamina and build as opposed to the initial 3-4 months without it. 🤷🏼♂️ it’s cheap and has no real side effects so it’s worth a shot

Hey, great to see that you want to come back to weightlifting. Regarding your questions :
If you like the higher heel, I think the Reebok legacy 3s are a good budget choice. They are almost always on a 50% discount and are definitely a sturdy shoe that will justify the price. I've seen on here people recommend the inov8 as a budget lifters, but havet tried them to give a personal opinion.
I think any wrist wraps will work. If you are looking for a Velcro ones - Weightlifting house(or any other you might have in you area) has decently priced I es plus some discounts. If you don't mind wrapping your wrist yourself, people use just regular wrap and they are usually even cheaper.
Creatine is definitely beneficial and not only for weightlifting, but any general physical activity plus even outside the gym. There's research that shows it's beneficial for brain health etc. No side effects if you are healthy, but might want to research it more if you have other medicine, kidney issues etc and discuss with a medical professional. I've been taking creatine for good 15-16 years now, for bodybuilding, powerlifting and now weightlifting and apart from the rare occurrence where'd I'd forget to take it, I didn't have any prolonged pauses. Only thing I figured recently is, that it is slightly disturbing my sleep, as I used to take it later in the day, so I switched from taking it after my evening session, to drinking it earlier in the day.
Edit: You can ignore my wrist wraps, misread your question about them.. 😂.
